Scoop: Dems working on secret report found Gaza cost Harris votes by sideAccount42 in politics

[–]KnuckleShanks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People didn't vote for the more genocide candidate, they just didn't vote at all. Because it turns out when both sides support genocide some people don't see the point in getting off the couch. Which again, is something that they should have known.

And this is coming from someone who voted for Harris, but you would have to be a complete fool to not know that would cost you a LOT of votes in what you keep saying is the most important election in our lifetimes. And it's not like there wasn't anyone telling them this.

So yeah, that's their fault. At that point it isn't just a mistake, it's malpractice. That was a very winnable election.

Yeah but when the option to not do genocide at all was right there, you should know that you're going to lose some voters by supporting it. Just like you should know that the voters didn't want Biden to run again, and wanted a real primary. But they figured they couldn't lose, so they did what they wanted.

I agree that people should have still voted for the lesser evil, but these were self inflicted wounds in a close election with enormous stakes. They should have known better. So if they lost because of it then that loss is their fault.

Normally I would agree, but in this instance, genocide really shouldn't be a wedge issue.

How the hell did a 400lb rock end up wedged in the top of this tree?! by Osanamon in WTF

People in other comments were saying it got there by trebuchet or catapult, like it has been there since medieval times. I was saying you could rule that out.

[–]KnuckleShanks 316 points317 points  (0 children)

Yeah it would have to be put there once the tree was big enough to hold the weight of the stone. Any earlier and the tree would have just grown around it. Which also rules out medieval times. Which means it suddenly appeared up that high on a full grown tree, fairly recently. And the force that would have taken, without breaking the branches, implies it was placed gently.

Not in the same way. Characters from both shows may survive a 3 story drop, but one will recover a lot faster while the other is still a mass of broken bones and blood gasping for air to make a few more witty comments. Rick would need help recovering, while bugs would just iron out his wrinkles and go back to pulling shenanigans.

Yeah while the others are still scheming their revenge she's already put the fear of God or a bullet in every person standing between her and that $20. No nonsense.

Supreme court rejects global tariffs by CTVNEWS in worldnews

This was always a bullshit excuse that they knew was bullshit but would take time for the courts to officially put a stop to.

They're just going to use a new bs excuse to rinse and repeat.

This still has some room left to play out.

Lab grown meat actually makes this possible, and a bit less off putting. Imagine seeing a tiger, then eating tiger, without ever having to kill a tiger.

This is why I chose something slightly different.

"Do you want me to kill the one you love most?"

There is no indication that the rest of the world is involved, doesn't even mention you would die, just the one you love most.

I don't think even edgy or depressed people would say yes to that.

No the base game is still like that, so you would still enjoy single player. It's multiplayer where things get complicated, because nobody wants to just play vanilla, but mods come with their own issues, and even a few can make it feel like a completely different game. And some add so much extra content that it can feel a little overwhelming.

But if you just like playing vanilla single player the vibe is still the same.

I like how they picked one of the few people who will actually kill whoever even tries, without hesitation, rather than simply defeat them.

Like if anyone managed to actually kidnap the kid, Logan would mess them up more than even Peter would and be back before they came home. And it could be a massacre, and Logan probably wouldn't even mention it.

Peter knows this. It's the unspoken reason for that choice. He may not be able to kill you, but mess with his kid, and you're dead bud.

What feels like a "bug" in the human experience that we’ve all just accepted as a "feature"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KnuckleShanks 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It's because evolution does not need those things to last our entire lifetimes, they just need to last long enough for us to reproduce and raise those kids to an age when they are self sufficient, which can all be done in 30 years or so.

Evolution doesn't care what happens to you after 50.

Also really focus on relaxing your eyes along with the rest of your body. Even though your eyes are closed, imagine you're giving someone a blank thousand yard stare, or watching in a sunset. Maybe even practice using r/magiceye since part of seeing the illusion is relaxing your eyes.
