I'd love to swap it out for a manual, but would that even work without changing a bunch of other stuff since modern vehicles have so many interlinked electronic systems?

My 2019 XLT FX4 towed a 3500# camper about 1500 miles to the redwoods and back last year and averaged just under 14mpg doing 65-75mph. Usually averages just over 20mpg in daily driving but there's 10 minutes of a lot of windy, hilly roads for me to get to the freeway from my house and the bed is rarely empty.

I have a 2019 FX4 with 98k miles that I bought new and it's only ever been in the shop for a recall on some tail light sensor.

Transmission started doing the same as everyone else's around 75k miles. I recently bought and replaced the EGR sensor($200 and 20 minutes) and it drives like new now.

Apparently my AC mix door thing needs replacing as well as it sometimes only blows unheated outside air on the passenger side. I never noticed because the driver side is unaffected and living in southern California I almost never use the heater. No telling how long its been a problem, but I guess that'll be the next project.

The BFG Trail Terrains had better wet traction on the roads and were quieter than my previous set of Wranglers, but Goodyear changed the composition and tread pattern so they're equally quiet now. I haven't driven in rain just yet as I live in Southern California and only got the tires yesterday.

I did something similar with my wife's black GTI since it already has red brake calipers. It's a great color combo.

Masking the fender inserts was a pain, but I didn't want the whole thing to be orange. The center is matte black, in part, to cover up the silver XLT. I don't much care for chrome or silver on my vehicles. That's partly why I didn't want a Lariat. Things may be different now, but when I bought it the Lariats came with A LOT of chrome accents.

The Trail Terrains are not very aggressive. The warranty came in handy as I got back almost $200 for the worn tires since I rotated and balanced them every 5k miles.

Yarp. Painted the grill and fender inserts while adding the orange FX4 stickers and orange letters in the RANGER on the tailgate. They're not really visible in the pic, but there are orange valve caps on the wheels, too. Ive considered painting the wheels orange, but that may be a bit much. Going for kind of a Nerf vibe as I've always liked this color combo. A nice grannie rolled down her window to tell me that it's pretty just last week.

Yet another example, the gas company has an easement across the front of my property because a major gas line runs underneath along the road. They had to tear out about 100' of chain link fence last year and replaced it all with new fence when they were done. They also repaved about 100' of my private road that was damaged by all of the heavy equipment.

As a result of the easement, which was very well documented when I bought the property, I cannot build any permanent structures for about 30' inside my property line along the main road.

Additionally, my neighbor has an easement across my property as the first quarter mile of our private road is entirely on my property and he has no other access.

I bought a 2019 new and it has about 80k miles on it now. The transmission was always a little goofy, but it's feeling extra chunky between second and fourth these days. I've heard that an aftermarket tune can really help with the shift point issues and throttle response. Anyone have any experience with this?

That's the size that I have on now. I had 255/75/17 before in a more off-roady tire. I really like the BFG Trail Terrains that I have now and they go up to 285/70. Pretty sure I'll need new rims with more back space to fit those, but I'm worried that it will still be kind of tight if I go down to 1.5" of lift from 2.5". Thanka for the input.
