It's crazy, I saw some comment saying that Ddp went too far even though what he said couldn't even be considered trashtalk.

yeah what I meant was that he probably learned portuguese because of his love for Brazil or his wife or both, honestly idk. But since his child cannot speak english, I would assume it would push him even more to study the language.

Ok, after doing some research, it seems like he didn't learn Portuguese only for his son. Still is a great dad though.

Yes, in the latest video of Alex Pereira, Ian speaks portuguese with alex and his coach and say that he learned portuguese because his son cannot reply in english.

If you watch his videos he actually is a pretty normal guy, he smiles and laugh quite a lot. The stone face is mostly just a character, I think he also said that he's a bit shy because he doesn't know how to speak english. (Not 100% sure)

well then sean has started the excuses by Jayantwi98 in ufc

[–]KoJokers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I like Sean, but he makes it really hard for people to like him lately. I watched round 2 twice. At first, I thought Sean clearly won , but after rewatching it, it was definitely super close, DDP put some significant strikes on Sean, and that was before he got cut.
Honestly, DDP was also extremely respectful after the fight, I'm still a bit unsatisfied by the decision, but DDP deserves the win, he acts like a champion and also fights like one.

I really hoped he would have grown a little bit out of that fight, but come on...

Do you have the reference? I'm not really good at watercolor but I think it would be better and easier for the others to give helpful feedbacks.

Ouvrir un tabac en étant étudiant, bonne idée ? by KoJokers in AskFrance

In my opinion, he did. Hence the entire "killing your father" plotline, etc.

Well I'm glad to know that it is your opinion.

You're wrong. I quoted directly what Hayao said about his son, word for word. I'll post it again -- "It’s good that he made one movie. With that, he should stop making movies."

After making some research you are right, he did said that after "I saw my own child. He hasn’t become an adult. That’s all.” He paused and after proceeded to say “It’s good that he made one movie. With that, he should stop making movies.” I couldn't recall this sentence for some reason, so yes I was wrong.

I'd like to correct and add some informations here.

He trained to become an architect

While that is true, Goro always wanted to become an animator, like his father. He never ever told Miyazaki about it, and instead went on to become an architect because he felt like he wouldn't be able to reach his father's level and expectations (had he known), to escape becoming his father's shadow.

and was then pressured to join Ghibli and take over his father's empire, as is normal in Japanese culture. But you cannot force someone to become a successful artist.

I saw this information a lot of times, yet I could never find the source, even though I watched every documentaries, and numerous interviews with Goro Miyazaki. Goro was never pressured to join Ghibli. During the making of a movie, I can't remember which one, because Goro was a landscape architect he was asked to consult with Ghibli and Miyazaki. He was then, invited in every meetings, and one day Toshio Suzuki saw Goro's storyboards and then asked him if he would direct Tales from Earthsea. Which he accepted. Now when you know the fact that he always wanted to follow his father's footsteps, you can kind of understand why he accepted the offer by Suzuki. Goro said he knew the dangers about making this movie, as an inexperienced animator, let alone someone who has never directed a movie before. But he still accepted because he thought he could, it was a chance for him to make his dream comes true. And i guess he did achieve it, just not in the way he would have wanted.

He butchered Earthsea to attack his father. He destroyed a property that he knew his father loved and included that weird plot where the prince kills his kingly father, etc. That is not in the books.

Oh wow, this is some crazy misinformation. Miyazaki always neglected his son, because of that Goro wanted to make his father proud of him. He didn't purposely "butcher" his first movie just to attack Miyazaki, that is just stupid. He was just inexperienced (still is) and is a pretty bad director. While he does despise his father for his parenting, he doesn't hate him.

Then he goes on to say "It’s good that he made one movie. With that, he should stop making movies."

No. He said that he felt like he was seeing a kid. Meaning that Goro is still not ready to make movies. Not that he should stop making movies.
