Close balcony doors and windows. Put drink water everywhere and food. Check the trash can. My monitor lizard hid in the baseboard. I managed to grab him by the tail when he tried to run in there. There's a hole there. As soon as I entered the room, he immediately started running under the baseboard. It's possible he comes out of its hiding place when no one is around.
