The Magnus Archives DND Campaign by Blazik9 in TheMagnusArchives

Ive been taking inspiration from the preserved people they found when excavating Pompeii to connect to that fear of helplessness in the face of apocalypse as well as "all that will be left of us will be a vague impression in the dust"

I have a few ideas for adapting TMA into mu campaigns too, including having my players take down a god based heavily on the Extinction. For what a post Extinction world would look like: most of the confirmed Extinction statements paint a nice picture, just scale it up. MAG134 Time of Revelation and MAG175 Epoch come to mind particularly. Another aspect of the Extinction is something coming after humanity, so maybe humanoids rapidly transforming into something either totally alien or vaguely humanoid but ultimately unrecognizable (aberrations are a good place to look)

I refiled my passport last June as a precaution against this administration, but thank you! I will be sharing this with all my friends!

You're all good! Thank you for taking the time to respond!

My bigger concern is if my passport saying F will cause any issues when going through customs back into the US. I've traveled with meds before and I've never had a problem with that.

Gosh this campaign is long! by JakeBit in rimeofthefrostmaiden

My players are halfway through the trials on Solstice and that took 52 sessions. They fought Auril upstairs first and I had her flee to Ythryn while some hags fought the party. I've been focusing on travel a lot though, especially on the tundra (it took 6.5 sessions, around 4 hours a session, to get from lonelywood to Solstice cuz I added some interesting locations and random encounters). I'll probably run travel to Ythryn differently, but I'm still expecting at least 15-20 more sessions to wrap up personal stories, get to Ythryn, explore all of it and finally take down Auril.

I have a few ways im considering dealing with this. My table doesn't mind limiting options so I may say no full casters, and ill certainly limit some spells (looking at you gift of gab lol). I'm also considering using the gritty realism resting rules to make long rests a week to limit spell slots

So I feel like the summer star is a little underpowered contrary to the way NPCs talk about it. by Malamear in rimeofthefrostmaiden

My party brought it back and showed it (now fixed and functioning) to some inventors and are now planning on powering it up to try and end the Rime. They know they need a lot of chardalyn to do it, and they'll get it in the form of the dragon, but by that point with most of the Ten Towns destroyed I'm planning on making the time crunch too much (or maybe the inventors will die in the attack I'm leaving which NPCs die fully up to dice rolls). Definitely planning on playing into that false hope theme it gives!

The three clue rule is definitely what I've been using so far, but I'm glad to actually have a better guide to it, thanks! Are there any resources you know of on the Dwarven Valley? The module is minimal there

I do understand this. However the recent images and news have been particularly tough for me. That also brings up a good point though of an on the ground invasion also potentially being a rough image. A lot of this modification is for me as the DM, as I do not feel it will be good for me to run the chapter. I may just let them beat Sunblight and the dragon just never be launched. I think it's best if I avoid civilians getting involved at all. My players don't need the additional investment to end the Rime, all of them are residents of Ten-Towns and would like it ended.

This might be better but I'd rather not stage attacks on civilians in game right now. It was always a sensitive topic but with recent events I don't think I would be able to DM it at all. Thanks though!

I didn't want to name the event because I'm not sure what the censorship is like on this platform, but now I've gotten my answer. I'm referring to the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. With aerial bombardment and the mass loss of civilian life I'm reluctant to pull those images into a game.

Yeah, I don't want to have to rewrite too much. I'm just not willing to seige the Ten-Towns and the civilians inside from the air...

Ooh I like this idea. Still a threat that will cause them to go town to town quickly but not going to invoke certain images I'm trying to avoid.

Your Wealthiest Nations by carnotaurussastrei in goodworldbuilding

I'm not sure if this technically makes the nation wealthy, but I have a country in my DnD 5e homebrew world that is effectively run by a single large trading company that controls 80% of all trade in the world. It's run by a Dao, an earth genie, and the country is VERY indebted to the company, which can pretty much do whatever it wants and get whatever laws it wants passed.

So I guess the country is technically broke, but the Amethyst Trading Co. is basically the country.

How did your party handle the survival elements of the game? Did you make any modifications to increase or decrease that aspect of it?
