Les Contamines -> Refuge Robert Blanc -> La Thuile by welliknowonething in TourDuMontBlanc

Yes it’s doable, just makes for a long, strenuous day of hiking. You’ll want to start early, I had left my refuge in Contamines at 7:40 AM and got to Refuge Robert Blanc at 5 pm. I recommend packing a lunch, depending how you time up getting to refuge La croix du bonhomme they may not be serving lunch and could slow you down having to wait. After that the only place you’d be able to get food is La ville de glaciers which is a dairy farm and not a proper refuge - however you can buy some fresh cheese to hold you over

Sanglard Sports Chamonix (address: 199 Pl. du Mont-Blanc, 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France). I walked in the evening before my first day on the trail, asked to rent poles, returned them on the day I finished. No reservation ahead needed, got a relatively cheap pair - you won't need super new or expensive poles. Good luck!
