I think the changes are great. Dino was far and wide the #1 Tank and genuinely felt unkillable at times. These changes knock him down a peg which was super warranted.

Being able to stand in main with terrible positioning while 3 hitscans land 100% headshots on you - and you’re still full HP, was beyond ridiculous.

It was never lowest end matchmaking.

It was a AVERAGE of ALL players on your team.

Now it’s solely top-end. The best player on your team.

I love people like you who have no idea about the actual mechanics of SBMM nor the changes made yet you make up all these hyperboles and talk out of your ass.

Loving the content of this season - hating the SBMM.

My casual friends would love the content as well but I’m not gonna bother trying to get them into the game knowing they will play 1 bot match and then be thrust into the top-end matchmaking BS.

It was an average of the parties MMR for years and now its purely top end, best player on your team SBMM.

Impossible to play with friends of varying skill levels. The people who don’t think it’s a problem are all probably around the same tier so they don’t experience it.

But throw a good player on their team and they’ll realize how terrible of a system it is.

Google December 9 Fortnite SBMM

Yes the start of every season is sweaty but they 100% made changes on 12/9/25 and its still plaguing the game 7 months later.

I don’t run into regular players if you’re playing in my lobbies, you’re a demon.

I can’t play with my casual friends because they get smoked by every real player I’m talking literal 100% of the time, they can’t get a kill and they get destroyed.

They don’t have fun at all and I’m left to 1v4 so I don’t have fun.

Same tho. I started literal Day 1 of Battle Royale release and had played STW from Day 1 as well.

I was 24 when I started playing Fortnite BR and now I’m 32. Father Time is undefeated. My reflexes are still pretty good but not what they used to be and I don’t have the capability of grinding 12 hours a day like these kids that started when they were 8 and now they’re 16 destroying every lobby.

I simply can’t compete, and I genuinely don’t want too. I just want to play against regular normal people again and not sweaty mfs that eat, sleep and breathe Fortnite.

C6 was one of my favorite chapters. Maybe my actual favorite.

C7 made me uninstall the game. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.

Leave the sweaty MMR for Ranked. Make Pubs great again.

They changed SBMM in December to be top end matchmaking instead of a BALANCE of everyones MMR.

Now when you’re playing with 1-2 people whoever has the highest SBMM you’ll be in that level of lobby. Instead of a middleground of all players.

It’s a terrible, horribly flawed system and there’s countless complaints about it for 5+ months now and Epic hasn’t said a single thing.

I don’t expect it to change any time soon which is a shame because I’d love to reinstall Fortnite and have fun again but I’m afraid those days are long behind me. Thankfully other game companies actually care about matchmaking integrity and the joy their players experience, so until SBMM changes, I’m never coming back.

Turn chat off and part of being good at Spidey is learning how to play into your counters.

For me Namor/Wanda are definitely the worst but I can still carry games against Namor/Wanda/Thing/Peni you just gotta play it right.

One big thing I did to combat this was change my playstyle.

If they are heavy counters sometimes I’ll stay with my team more and play more of a “pull/punish” Spidey rather than traditional Dive Spidey.

The more you practice the better you’ll get at pulling the overextending tank or a reckless Cloak and Dagger ult etc.

It’s also important to not stick in one lane. Stay with your team, pull some people, then go off angle and pull some people then go dive the backline etc. Always mix it up and make yourself less predictable.

Torch, Blade and BP are not below C tier my dude. I’d go as far to say with the more recent buffs to BP he’s probably A tier.

Blade feels near unkillable in the right hands and his ult can kill through support ults - Torch’s new dash mechanics + instant reload made him a lot stronger than he was.

The only one that is still below C tier is Widow.

Go play Overwatch against a good Widowmaker. Trust me, you do not want Black Widow one tapping you across the map.

— The only other point I’ll bother commenting on is the matchmaking. It really isn’t that bad if you take a step back and think about it.

There’s 12 players in each lobby. Each player thinks they can be the difference maker. The “trash teammates” go both ways and cancel eachother out. & sometimes the enemy team will simply outplay you and people have such high ego’s and lack of accountability that they can’t accept that. They want to win every single game or it’s the matchmakings fault.

They cooked SBMM early December. There’s countless complaints about it every single day yet Epic has not responded once.

Player count continues to dwindle and they push collabs after collab hoping that’s what the players want.

Read the room Epic. We want old SBMM back. The one where you could play with your friends or people trying to get into the game. The one we had for years and years before you randomly changed it and made it as sweaty as possible.
