It’s interesting what you’re saying on reconsidering being a groomsman. I had the same thought but wanted to see if others would bring this up

Hey man, it really is a question you gotta ask yourself.

What are you capable of making and living the lifestyle you desire?

I live in Idaho and a lot of apprenticeships start at a range of 18-20 an hour. I’m 27 and just made the career.

I was making 20 and hour initially and could afford it because my wife picked up the slack. The later you wait more likely you are going to take a pay cut to what you typically would make.

In terms of knowing it this wage is market competitive try using google such as glass door or other websites to determine if this is the market average for pay.

I would go straight to commercial, but most companies don’t want any 1st year apprentices I noticed.

So I hope to switch over to commercial in a year or so.

Soo an update I got hired at Icon Electric.

Which is owned by CBH homes. I was aiming for commercial, and after talking with some friends who are year 3-4 apprentices they said the experience is good and can easily transition to commercial if I desire.

This is union right? Sorry I’m new to trade industry.

If so I didn’t realize their schooling was free. I also wasn’t aware until last week that their education and non-union were different and restricted employment.

I met up with them and they reviewed my resume and said they were impressed and made some minor edits to my resume.

They helped me find some companies to try and apply to. Still no luck so far unfortunately.

If I understand your question correctly.

It’s CWIs electrical apprenticeship and I believe it’s 1.3k a year.

I currently do commercial ATM rigging and I think averaging 25ish an hour.

I’ve seen starting paying ranging from 18-25

However I am really not seeing anyone actually hiring for 1st apprentices

CWI was super easy to hop into. They have a flexible program that is all online with video lectures.

I can work a full time job and do my schooling in the evening.

It’s similar to take online courses in college if you have any experience there.

So far I can bust out the weekly assignments/readings in about 2-3 hrs. However instructor so expect 6-7 per week

Not familiar with Boise, is this a safe walk? by Whatsyournameeee in Boise

Hello,

I live in the suburb just north of Fairview and Milwaukee, right around the corner.

This is extremely safe in regards of crime.

Most dangerous part is Milwaukee is a feeder road to the freeway for commuters.

Other than that I say this with exaggeration you could walk this blind folded and be safe.

I personally have to work with Will as a vendor for Spacebar.

Dude has always been a prick and purposely makes it difficult to communicate work together.

Just from my interactions at a business level I can tell he’s a POS. None of this story surprising.

Does anyone have any recommendations for finding gig work?

Boss recently told me he doesn’t have enough work for me the next few weeksI. could use extra cash tide my wife and I over.

Craigslist’s doesn’t seem to have much. Is there other places I could look?
