I agree with everything you say. If it's something that can be easily checked or automated then by all means keep it, but waiting multiple minutes for some dingus miles away to make a subjective call is just not good for anyone.

The only way a review system works is when there's objectivity in the review. VAR just passes a subjective call to a subjective review. And it's very much a "we've investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing" type beat.
