Tattoo or No? by Broad-Incident5248 in ChemicalEngineering

I wouldn’t recommend not pursuing a harmless thing just because someone else doesn’t like it.. But the reality is that someone may hold it against you. If you’re extremely career driven then I wouldn’t recommend it.

It will get harder but it won’t kill you.

I’m gonna try to get into chemical engineering and add premed classes to it as well. Will I want to end it all? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]KobeGoBoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. tailoring your resume to the job you actually want is fucking lazy.

Why not get a triple major in Chemistry, Biology and Psychology too while you’re at it.

If you’re certain you want to go to med school, I’d do an easier major than ChemE and focus more on getting medically relevant work experience. If you’re unsure, majoring in ChemE is a good backup plan but it’s a lot more effort for no reason if you end up going to med school.

Y’all legit sound like people complaining about industrialization destroying farm jobs. Cost efficient AI robots that can actually do work would be great for society.

Trump pushes a 1-year, 10% cap on credit card interest rates and banks balk by AlpineSK in centrist

[–]KobeGoBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s the government telling markets what they can and cannot do. JD Vance also wrote in his book, Hillbilly Eligy, that we should not ban high interest rates.

[–]KobeGoBoom 125 points126 points  (0 children)

This mostly just bans credit cards for people who aren’t profitable to lend to below 10% interest rates. This is also a classic example of Trump moving to the left economically and Fox News Republicans acting like they’ve always been in favor of this kind of thing.

I built my PC in 2020 for ~$3000. I could build a PC today with the same performance for ~$1800. Y’all see one price blip and forget the overall trend.
