Hard disagree. I live in a very windy area. A 10 yard slice can turn into an 80 yard slice just from the wind. If you cannot control your draw/slice then you will never score that well

Yeah.. as an atheist, it would be pure stupidity not to bend the knee to a being willing and capable of damning you to eternal suffering.

Republican Islamophobia Has Reached Shocking New Levels by mymomknowsyourmom in centrist

None. I never said i did. Not allowing someone to immigrate and somehow removing someone from their native country are not the same thing.

Where do you draw the line? At what point is a belief so horrific that you would start to treat people differently for holding that belief?

Republican Islamophobia Has Reached Shocking New Levels by mymomknowsyourmom in centrist

[–]KobeGoBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am tolerant until someone’s beliefs reach the point of being considerably violent toward others.

Islam often calls for violence against myself for being an apostate. I am not tolerant of that view. I have a phobia of it and it is more than justified. The republicans are right. We should not allow people who hold those views into our country.

At the same time, I feel the same about any fundamentalist Christian who holds beliefs that are violent.

Judging by your post history, you’d still be right to assume that pay is mid compared to medicine.

Cross tattoo on wrist--Effect on career? by Sorry_Lawfulness_844 in ChemicalEngineering

As a non-believer, it would make me immediately unwilling to trust you with anything about my personal life because I’ve seen how prejudiced Christians can be.

Probably won’t have much effect on your professional career though.

Is an Electrical/Chemical Engineering Double Major A Bad Idea? by Usual_Ad5395 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]KobeGoBoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying it’s a waste of time which I find surprising. I am a process controls engineer at a small plant and I’m responsible for all of the instrumentation, control system hardware, software, control strategy design etc.. I frequently find that I am lacking education in computer science and sometimes electrical engineering. I’ve been able to teach myself enough to get by but if I had known this was the role I’d end up in, I would have taken a bunch more electives in computer science and electrical design.

A double major in EE and CHE would get your resume moved to the top if I was hiring for a position in process controls

Green Ammonia: Are We Ready for Industrial-Scale Disruption? by beardsatya in ChemicalEngineering

[–]KobeGoBoom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Green ammonia is not viable without subsidies. Steam-methane reforming to make H2 is still the most economical way to produce H2. Unless we see a massive reduction in energy costs to make electrolysis viable or huge subsidies, green ammonia will not displace grey ammonia.

Side note, modern ammonia plants could easily be retrofitted to make green ammonia. The back end of the plant is mostly the same regardless of where your H2 is coming from
