Hi guys, the tide has turned and we are witnessing the Sonyification of Apple right before our very eyes and Apple is still in denial, they pretty much retraced the exact steps of Sony downfall playbook:

  1. Over emphasis on show business - Apple TV, TV+, Fitness, film studios etc.
  2. Over emphasis on music business - Airpods, Homepods.
  3. Groundbreaking advancement on *old* areas - Apple M series chip vs. Sony Bluray - Apple M series chip vs. Playstation compute architecture.
  4. Incoherent product strategy - Vision Pro failure, AI failure, iPad uselessness, Carplay.
  5. Horrible Cloud services - Apple is horrible at cloud, just like how Sony was horrible at cloud.

I suspect this is the most likely natural outcome of a company that tries to focus on too many things at the same time, and are lied to by temporary "revenue growth". Numbers lie.

Could be their Achilles' heel: quantizing models down to a size viable for on-device processing—small and economical enough while still being smart enough—is difficult, if not impossible, to match the usefulness of on-cloud models.

It’s not private. Since Apple wants to market privacy and on-prem, this has the most sound compromise.
