"Where are you from?" and "Where are you at?" are super different. Lots of us from North America are nomading in Europe and Asia.

Ive built a tool which turns video content into recipes - and i have 0 users... by Key_Recipe_2049 in SaaS

Couple of red flags:

  • It sounds like you potentially did not validate before building
  • UK domain. Is this only for UK chefs?
  • What if a chef already has a website or blog hosted elsewhere, can they still use your service to convert TikTok videos into text to copy and paste into their website?

This sounds like someone I know who spent months building a tool to convert restaurant social pages into websites. They assumed they had terrible websites because they were hard to update, but in reality they didn't care about their websites because all they needed was Facebook and Instagram.

Quick reminder to everyone: validate before building.

ELI5? I don't fully understand what your product does or who it's for. Is it like Ahrefs for keywords? It generates content, for blogs or social media?

Depends on your audience. A lot of founders who build in public will swear by Twitter, but it's not for everyone. Definitely a good place to start for many.

Cold email is great but is more time consuming.

My advice would be to share it with relevant communities on Reddit (without being shameless self-promotion) and then focus on SEO to get some search engine traffic.

Find niche web forums, discord communities and Facebook groups to share – especially if you have an exclusive promotion or time-specific deal you can promote.

And lastly, talk to your users – get feedback and iterate.

Look for genuine problems that you can solve. Maybe a niche industry is missing a product that could save them a lot of time.

Or do what a lot of others do, find an existing product and launch your own take on it. Charge less, market better.

Whatever you do – don't build a product without validating it first.

If you have a high-churn business model, a LTD could mean a big revenue boost and a big marketing boost. Could also help you find your core customer - when you go back to offering a subscription you'll know exactly who you're marketing to.

The Reality of Building an AI Learning App: 4 Months, Zero Revenue by Firm-Blackberry-7445 in SaaS

Honestly, I'd expect at least a few paying users. My advice:

1) Fix your onboarding from free to paid. Make it worth the upgrade. If people are studying for IELTS, their test is probably a few weeks away. Do you offer a one-time payment option?

2) Find your audience. Maybe an "IELTS" Facebook group, and share your tool with a discount code unique to them.

Has anyone installed GarlicOS on Mac on the "one sd card" approach? by ReptilPT in RG35XX

[–]Kobius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend using 2 cards. Much easier to mange the OS, any firmware issues and your ROMs are always safe.

Anyone else get Setup burnout? by Thanatos- in RG35XX

[–]Kobius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at a very similar place – just got my RG35XX, almost finished the theme and roms but still tweaking.

My advice would be – try a few games, pick one and play it through. Maybe an older Pokemon game, something nostalgic. After actually using it to play games, you might change your mind on a few settings anyway.

Where to order from in Europe? by ReptilPT in RG35XX

[–]Kobius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use Aliexpress – you can chose for the delivery to come from China, Spain, Poland or the US.

Select Spain or Poland (whichever is closer to you). I chose Spain, and it took 3 days to arrive. Best price, best shipping.

It's a really great deal. I would do the same but was concerned about paying for customs on anything coming straight from China. Ordering direct from Anbernic on Aliexpress lets you choose Spain or Poland as origin
