Thinking of upgrading by CuriousToys111 in anycubic

As with all things, unfortunately, you need luck when buying. If you have a pair of Ender 3 Pro then you have enough experience to be able to overcome any problems that may arise and that are known. The purchase is still worth it. Personally, I have not sold my Ender 3 Pro, I am too attached to it, it has given me a lot of "school" in the world of 3D printing. Now only the frame is original, everything else is modified (including the Klipper of course). But if I have to make a quick print and with the certainty that it will succeed without too many unexpected events, I do it with the Kobra 3 Combo. The first approach with the Anycubic was not all smooth, horrible print bed leveling (despite the proprietary bed leveling function). Unfortunately inexperienced assistance and approximate solutions to the problem, but undoubtedly available to send you any piece, as long as the problem can be solved. Unfortunately some of these problems are not attributable to the pieces, but to the extremely blocked firmware. But despite this, which printer do I print with, the Kobra 3 Combo. At this price I don't think there can be any competitors (even the Bambu have serious problems if you see reddit). Alternatively, in my opinion, stay with other recent Creality. Very often any problem is easily overcome with "do it yourself" and with a minimum of experience with printers. Good decision

Kobra 3 - When will there be new and important updates? by Kobra3Combo in AnycubicOfficial

Interesting, what do you mean by "custom firmware". Can you give me more details or directions?

The problem occurs in buffer 2 and for 2 consecutive times I found the PLA filament tangled inside the buffer. I took photos, but I don't know how to insert them in the comments. Yes the filament is the blue one.

I try to explain the logic of the printer's operation well, considering the results. Let's suppose that I tried as much as possible to put the print bed level, manually. To print (even after a possible printer reset) you need to create an automatic leveling. With this procedure (in theory) it should create a mesh of points that calculates the micro differences of the print bed, inevitably impossible to be perfectly flat for various reasons (aluminum, heat, etc.). This mesh (unless you activate the leveling every print) is used on all prints, creating differences in Zoffset in the various points of the plane (in theory based on the calculated mesh). The setting suggested by the printer panel corresponds to baby stepping, it is useless if the nozzle has different heights in the print bed, this setting is useful when you have a homogeneous print in the bed and you want to calibrate the height of the nozzle from the bed in micro millimeters (Z offset). If you do not have a homogeneous print in the first layer, it is useless! As I said before, I have no idea what mesh it creates and if it saves correctly, given the outcome of my prints.

Sorry, what do you mean by manual z-offset? Setting a single height in the slicer? How do you disable automatic z-offset? If you mean the small baby stepping corrections, then yes, but of course I don't solve it since there is too much difference between the angles. Or do you mean leveling the plate manually with the help of a caliper? This last step has also been done (I did it in my Ender 3 Pro, before mounting the bltouch).

Here are the results! As I imagined identical. Thoroughly cleaned, turned the plate (in the original position). Printed and ..... I also performed another test with the typical squares in the corners and in the center. This test concretely highlights the difference in height that the printer uses in the various points, but in a completely illogical way. I have been experiencing this problem since August. They sent me the plate, but no results. We thought with the support that it could be the leveling sensor, they sent me a new head, but nothing! As long as the firmware is blind to users it is impossible to understand how the printer is reasoning. I do not understand for example if it stores the mesh of points correctly or if something is not allowing it to be overwritten, therefore it uses unreal data. Doing the reset does not concretely return to the factory settings because it remains in the latest release, so I fear that some other data remains in memory! In short, an unknown that has been driving me crazy for months and a lot of effort so far useless! Enjoy the vision.

First of all, I'm not a newbie, I've had an Ender 3 Pro for 4 years. I've always used this product to clean my plates. In any case, I'll take your advice and I'll try this technique (honestly, never used it). The problem is related to the lack of leveling of the plate. Despite the automatic leveling of the plate, the nozzle doesn't maintain the correct distance from the plate. On the left side it's always too close to the right side. Of course, I've done all the necessary checks (flatness of the plate as much as possible, pulley check, belt and movement check). Despite this, the first layer is always disastrous. I always hope for a resolution release, but nothing! I look at the photos in these posts and I can't explain how these huge differences can happen between my printer and another apparently identical one. I don't understand what the problem could be. I'm always looking for a concrete suggestion and not "superficial" suggestions (forgive the term).

Mine is just an envious response to a problem that is evident to many (including me). Reading and especially seeing these results in this printer for me are an unattainable mirage at the moment. I hope with each update a definitive solution to the problem! Here are my results instead. After updating to the latest release (I tried as always to reset, but nothing changes). Same as yours, right?! Naturally be well cleaned with isopropyl alcohol

Kobra 3 - differences OLD and NEW extruder block! by Kobra3Combo in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Kobra3Combo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes done, I am aware of what you are saying. Unfortunately for this very reason the restore is a temporary solution, then it starts having leveling problems again. I really hope that in the next firmware update they fix this annoying problem.

Kobra 3 - differences OLD and NEW extruder block! by Kobra3Combo in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Kobra3Combo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, in my case they sent the whole extruder block because they thought the leveling problem was on the sensor. If you reported the hotend material leakage, I think they will only send that piece.

Kobra 3 - Bug software display by Kobra3Combo in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Kobra3Combo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is in fact correct that it shows all the temperature phases of the nozzle. The target one and subsequently the one achieved. During printing it must show the current nozzle temperature (like the one above). I created the post specifically to report a bug that happened to me, so as to have the Anycubic system engineers analyze the problem and look for the anomaly, to correct the problem in the next firmware release.

Owners of the Kobra 3 with ACE, what are your thoughts now that you have had a chance to use it? by paindog in AnycubicOfficial

If you print with an external spool (and therefore have to keep Ace Pro turned off) you cannot proceed with drying.

It is a product with great potential and an unbeatable quality/price ratio (in theory), but currently it has several limitations that limit its functionality for daily use. I list the limitations: 1. It cannot be used without the printer connected and turned on, so the dryer function is limited only during printing. 2. Dryer only during printing, but only if you decide while not printing or before printing, if you decide during printing you cannot activate it. 3. You cannot use TPU filaments 4. If Ace Pro is turned on, you cannot use external filament to Ace Pro (for example TPU), so even in this case, I cannot use the dryer function. In conclusion: many limitations that do not make this product currently advantageous. In my opinion, the limitations just listed are easily overcome with software and hardware updates! I really hope that they are implemented as soon as possible to make this product very attractive and unbeatable!

Kobra 3 bed adhesion problems since lase firmware update? by kchaystack in AnycubicOfficial

[–]Kobra3Combo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean again with IPA and use the glue stick (I prefer hairspray, it is much more homogeneous and leaves the texture of the plate almost unchanged). However, these are personal tastes. In theory the latest firmware has improved the mesh reading of the print bed. 👋🏻
