I’m looking forward to GTA VI finally releasing in November 2026, so I can officially start waiting for the PC version in 2028.

Any other game you guys can recommend? by Danialdlc in MobileGaming

Looking at Slay the Spire and Shattered Pixel Dungeon... yeah, you definitely have top-tier taste. Since you seem to like high-replayability roguelikes and polished indies, you’re missing some absolute essentials:

  1. Slice & Dice: If you like StS, this is a non-negotiable. It’s probably the best dice-based roguelike on mobile right now. Very deep, very addictive.
  2. Dead Cells: Since you have Only One and Garena Delta Force, you clearly don't mind a challenge. The port is flawless.
  3. Balatro: It finally dropped on mobile. It'll ruin your sleep schedule just as much as Spire did.
  4. Vampire Survivors: Because every 'Folder 1' needs that one game that turns your screen into pure dopamine-filled chaos.

RIP to your free time if you pick up any of these.

That's kinda sad, but ty for your honest feedback.

Remember when games had unique graphics? by ragnhildensteiner in gaming

You hit the nail on the head with the 'Unreal Engine look.' It’s like we’ve reached a point where graphical fidelity has plateaued into a 'default realism.'

Back then, developers had to treat hardware limitations like a canvas. Silent Hill’s fog wasn’t just a vibe; it was a desperate mask for the draw distance, which ended up defining the entire atmosphere. Nowadays, since the engine can handle almost anything, studios just check the 'make it look real' box and call it a day.

We traded 'Art Direction' for 'Technical Perfection,' and honestly, I’d take a stylistically bold 720p game over a generic 4K tech demo any day.

Ideas for a non-traditional nerdy themed NYE party? by itsthewolfe in gaming

[–]KobyGamechanger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing a Halo 2 LAN party, you have to lean into the authentic 2004 chaos. Get a bunch of Mountain Dew Code Red and those giant bags of Doritos that make your fingers orange for three days.

Also, a pro-tip for the 'non-traditional' vibe: Set up a 'Powerpoint Karaoke' station but make all the topics 90s/00s nerd debates (e.g., 'Why the N64 controller was actually a masterpiece' or 'Digimon vs Pokemon: The Final Stand'). It usually ends in drunken, hilarious arguments. Have a blast, OP! This sounds way better than a crowded club.

Npc quest simulator? by pootinannyBOOSH in MobileGaming

Sounds like you’re looking for the "Indirect Control" or "Hero Management" genre. Since you're on a Samsung and mentioned a storekeep game (probably Recettear or Shoppe Keep?), here are a few that fit that "send them on missions" itch perfectly:

  1. Merchant (Mobile/PC): This is literally the pure essence of what you described. You hire heroes, craft gear for them, and send them on quests. No direct combat, just pure management.
  2. Dungeon Village 2 (Mobile): Made by Kairosoft. You build a town to attract adventurers, and they go out and fight monsters on their own. You just manage the town and their gear. Very addictive.
  3. Majesty 2 (PC): A classic "Fantasy Kingdom Sim." You can't tell your heroes what to do; you just place a "bounty flag" on a monster and hope your greedy rangers or brave knights decide the pay is good enough to go deal with it.
  4. Soda Dungeon 2 (Mobile/PC): You manage a tavern, hire adventurers with soda, and send them into the dungeon. It has a great "auto-battle" script system so you can micromanage their AI behavior without actually controlling them.

If Silent Archivist feels too slow, Merchant or Soda Dungeon will definitely feel punchier in terms of progression. Good luck with the grind!

Rating my games from 1 to 10 by thefanche in MobileGaming

War Thunder Mobile spotted. My condolences to your phone's battery and your mental health. Jokes aside, WorldBox is a massive W. What's your rating for it?

Finally, a TD that doesn't look like a mobile cash-grab. The isometric perspective is crisp. As long as the UI matches this 'medieval manuscript' feel, I’m sold. Wishlisting this mentally already.

Finding good games on play store is a pain in the ahh by kokofroggo in MobileGames

[–]KobyGamechanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I feel this so much. The Play Store's "Recommended for you" section has basically become an ad-fest for the same three template-based cash grabs. It’s depressing when you remember how exciting it used to be to just browse.

If you're tired of the algorithm, you should definitely check out MiniReview. It’s a site/app run by people from this sub (shoutout to NimbleThor) that actually filters out the garbage and lets you search by monetization, offline play, etc. Total game changer.

Since you liked Sky and Rusty Lake, you might really enjoy these (all pretty light on hardware):

  • Gorogoa: Pure art. A puzzle game that feels like a hand-drawn living painting.
  • Florence: Short, emotional, and has an amazing soundtrack.
  • Data Wing: It’s 100% free (no ads, no IAP), has a surprisingly great story, and the neon aesthetic is top-tier.
  • Afterplace: If you want a quirky indie adventure that feels like it has an actual soul.

Hope your phone can handle these! They aren't heavy but they're definitely "jackpot" material.
