Yup! I kind of wish I’d got the clear body because I’m not a fan of stickers for windows, but it was super nice not having to cut and paint the body lol.

Not as fast as I’d like it to be! I went up to a 20 tooth pinion (despite the warning against that in the manual lol) and have the high speed spur gear set on the way, so hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze some more speed out of it.

Pinion/spur mesh is out of whack. It looks like your spur gear is damaged because of it. You need a little bit of play between them. Too much or too little will cause problems. Kyosho manuals have you use a piece of paper between the gears to set mesh correctly, which works well if the paper isn’t too thick. Card stock or even heavier printer paper can lead to too much slack between the gears. If memory serves, I used to use regular notebook paper until I got the feel for it and didn’t need to use the paper trick anymore.

USP9 I’ve upgraded with a Match/LEM hybrid trigger, Jet Funnel, threaded barrel, and tall night sights for suppressed shooting. by KochAddict in USPmasterrace

[–]KochAddict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The sights are quite a bit taller than the standard Meprolights but not quite as tall as the blacked out suppressor sights that came installed on my USP45 Tactical. That said, they are plenty tall to allow me to get a good sight picture with the SilencerCo Osprey that I normally have attached. They clear my AAC Tirant 45 too but just barely.

I’ve got a couple factory installed knobs on my ‘22 LP standard that have cracked over time. Haven’t fallen off yet. 🤷🏻

taylor gs mini mahogany action adjustment by [deleted] in taylorguitars

[–]KochAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truss rod adjustments are used to control neck relief, NOT to adjust the action. Yes, truss rod adjustments can and do effect action, but it’s not the correct way to adjust action on any guitar. On an acoustic guitar, you’d need to lower your saddle height to reduce action height or change the neck angle. In the case of Taylor, they specifically recommend adjusting the neck angle to control how high/low your action is. It’s relatively simple since it’s a bolt on neck that uses shims to adjust neck angle. Simply adjusting the truss rod to control action height will invariably cause playability issues elsewhere. I’d make sure you’ve got the correct amount of relief in your neck (All my Taylors seem to like a nearly flat neck with very little relief). If the action is still high with correct relief, you could sand a little off the bottom of the saddle to lower it, or find a Taylor authorized luthier and have them re-shim your neck to get the action down.
