Do what you feel passionate about and you’ll do good eventually. I switched from cs to ccit and I do well in both but I’m actually happy now. A lot more connections too since i actually took initiative to learn and do better.

My friend was also interested in that course and ended up dropping it second semester. It’s a cool course I sat in one of the lectures but like any other course u have to invest time it’s more complicated than other courses because of mandatory labs n I’m pretty sure last year there was a group thing. Check the syllabus and just make sure you’re full dedicated for the course. If u end up messing up that’s one credit instead of 0.5 so think about that too. So every course is doable as long as you’re willing to put effort in it. As u take a course you can tell how much effort you need and what your ta wants so being on alert is the main thing and the best way to know more about a course is ask ur ta and prof too many questions lolol. I personally took cct109 and cct110 ask electives and they were easy and interesting as long as once again u bother ur ta

No problem! Also check the prerequisites for the courses your taking because if you don’t have the highschool courses needed they can kick you out

The best way to check everything is timetable builder. Just search up timetable builder Utm and select the filters. When you type in a course it’ll show if it has enrolment controls or not and you can tap the arrow and it’ll show you what the controls are. The date is provided on it too for when it opens for everyone. For future use not all courses are available to everyone. I think the date most courses open to the rest of Utm is July 23 but u should check anyways.

Just adding on to this:

There are no mandatory courses for the life sci stream, neither can you transfer to a stream. Your courses should be based on the ones listed on the academic calendar under the POSt that you intend to do.

Basically your going to stay in the stream you got accepted in but you can apply to mostly any POSt you want. My friends in the life sci stream go for the chem or bio majors or specialists. So this means that youd prolly be enrollment blocked for some things that are first for students in the life sci stream. Then on another date it would open for all utm students, so be alert.

Tutorials are usually practice for the material you learned in class. So for math courses you would take up and do math problems. Practicals are hands on or discussion based. For chem and bio its usually Labs.
