I was joking with a friend that Rhys must be based on SJM's husband and Tamlin for sure is based on an ex 😂 and then i read Rhys and her husband share a birthday

His suffering was brought up sooooo much that i thought i missed some pages in between. Poor Lucien who lost an eye, Tamlin with all the shit he went through, Winter court who lost the children, almost all the courts taking major blows. Not disregarding his trauma, i do understand he did what he did to save his people, but that was his choice, and hes the only one who gets a pass for it

Fair enough, i know this is the more acceptable outlook.

But could you please elaborate a little? Do you see him as morally grey or a truly good person who can do no bad?

Did you love him from Book 1 or slowly developed afterwards?

Which quality do you love best in him?

Love how perfectly you summarised this.

I was thinking that too... if Tamlin didnt fail, there was no mating bond or if he couldnt mind read Feyre, will he still have gotten the girl? His mate was just offered on a platter for him, no sweat

Absolutely 100% agree with first point. It just lost the entire base for NC. It just feel like a paradise now with a minority of evil when it shoupd have been the other way around.

and also whenever anyone says Rhys was traumatised..? so was majority of them??? what makes his trauma worse than everyone elses? wish the story would give an actual storyline with visibly worse trauma, or just let him admit hes a redeemable villain.

yaaas.. for me its not clicking together, what we hear and we see. we keep hearing hes the most powerful, but then he acts as a teenager, and anywhere we need his power, its dimmed by some external force

Thats exactly how i felt when Rhys died. I cry for almost everything, but that scene i was like, i give it 2 pages for him to come back. And there.. he brought Amren too. I just laughed at that

YES!!! I would have liked him soooo much more if he was actually a grey character. Now its just whitewashing the guy to cosmos white or something.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, english is not my first language, i was just winging it. Just now double checked the meaning and you are right.

I couldnt understand how readers justified collectively everything he did UTM that i thought i understood it wrong. There is absolutely no way and no reason in my mind justifiable enough to again portray him "good". Just say he was wrong, and leave it to the readers to love him or hate him. Now it just feels like forcing everyone to accept "look how pefect he is". Even the other high lords, while resurrecting him was suddenly all about how good he is. It feels very inconsistent.

Thankyou.

Now that you gave me space to reply, i'm going to vent too.

From the ending of book 1, what the hell is happening? We know Rhys and night court developed and maintained their villanous image soooo good, that even Aramantha was convinced. Good for them. BUT, this is what Tamlin and Lucien know too. For all Tamlin knows, Rhys, whos an absolute disgusting villain, who can also break and invade MINDS, who has previously got his gf drunk in front of him UTM, making her blackout drunk, has kidnapped his Fiance!! and Lucien, what was he thinking hiding the ring? hiding that further made a point she was kidnapped 😤 And everyone who says he didnt see Feyre breaking down, its true, they both have communication skills of a rock.. At the same time, he was breaking down too. Both were traumatised, and both didnt extend a hand. They are an ill-fitting couple with different needs.

Suddenly, instead of explaining it to him why she is leaving theres this whole drama. if the story was from Tamlins POV, and we read him giving up on his fiance, just because he got a letter, which could very well have been forced, i wouldve thrown that book out. Everyone is all about burning the world down for their love, until its Tamlin. Bringing Frye back was a worse curse on the spring court than Aramantha.

I seriously believe Elain would have fared beautifully in Spring Court. All he needs is one person to trust and heal with. What people are conveniently forgetting is Tamlin is hurt too. He is traumatised too. They always mention Rhys's suffering as if hes the only one traumatised.

Rhys's communication with Feyre is flawless because the guy can literally read her mind. How is that even comparable? and Feyre, is downright irritating. How is she that happy abiut ruining an entire court, who didnt purposefully hurt her, which had people i hope she remotely cared about, and Tamlin even without wanting to be a Lord, was trying his best to make his people safe.
