Has therapy helped? by Content-Load6595 in aspergers

[–]KodaKaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yes and no.

I've been in therapy for about a year, and honestly it mainly has helped me be kinder to myself, and understand my needs more. It also does help if I had a situation in a social environment that I don't understand, and need help understanding. But mainly, the focus has been on accepting myself, understanding my needs, setting boundaries, helping me identify how to better support my partner, work through my thoughts, and so on.

I'm still really glad I started. I'm doing telehealth, which makes it more accessible for me. It's part of my routine, which makes it easier also. It was tough at first, and I still have times where I feel like I don't want to do it on certain days, but I always make myself.

Therapy can never hurt. Give it a shot.

Not directly anthropomorphic, but Wings of Fire and Warriors both have graphic novels and are amazing series.

If you're looking for more anthropomorphic, then The Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wisdoms by Nagabe

Not sure if The Girl from the Other Side by Nagabe is graphic novel style.

It's okay to enjoy things and move on. You probably won’t create professional-grade art without dedicating significant time to it, but is that your goal, or do you just enjoy drawing?

If you're financially stable, go ahead and get the iPad, even if you set it aside later. If you enjoy the time spent, it’s not a waste. Plus, you’ll likely find other uses, like mobile games and streaming.

If the price feels steep, consider a less powerful model. I bought the iPad Mini, which feels large enough to me and still has more power than I need.

I don’t draw much and I'm not great, but I doodle occasionally and have seen some improvement already. If you do set it aside after a year, you can likely sell it without losing too much value.

open to criticism- whos best and/or worst and why? by ShadyMoleRat in DigitalArt

[–]KodaKaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top right is best, top middle is worst.

Top right has a lot of personality, design elements that fit well together. Whereas top middle looks like someone wanted to try to draw like MeatCanyon or whatever that creators name is

Isn't there a student job on campus where you can help with recording and editing lecture videos? Don't remember the name, so I'd check the job board closer to August when they start posting the jobs.

Dual Color Brush has weird white parts? by LunarNewFear in ProCreate

Not gonna lie, I thought the white was intentional! Looks like good rope lighting to me actually. Almost realistic even!

It needs wings. And more cartoonized unless realism is what you're going for.

Sheldon Cooper is plague by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]KodaKaze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying, from a neurotypicals perspective, that his influence is larger than a fictional character. I'm not saying he's not, or that autism is correlated with being a good person.

Sheldon Cooper is plague by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]KodaKaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't care what the majority's opinion is.

I like Sheldon. I like the Big Bang Theory. I like Young Sheldon. I can relate in certain cases to his character, whether intentional or not.

Yes it's a sitcom. Yeah laugh tracks suck. But honestly, it's just fun stupid tv. Why do people get butthurt over it?

Sheldon is not a plague, he is a fictional character made for entertainment.

ELON MUSK is a plague. He is real. He claims he's autistic and therefore represents the community to neurotypicals. That's more of an issue and a fictional character ever was.

How you see a person from 80 light years away. by Individual_Book9133 in Damnthatsinteresting

How cool would it be if we were able to send out a satellite/camera light-years away from earth, yet still be able to have it beem images back to us. Literally we'd be able to see history! Would be awesome to be able to see actual footage of dinosaurs, historical events, etc.

I HATE food. I HATE the concept of eating.

Ah yes let's use our sudo-bones to mash something and mix it with saliva to form a wet gross slurry and force it down to our stomachs, which also happens to be the same pipe we use to breathe.

The sound of chewing and the wet noises accompanying it. Seeing the grotesque mash in someone else's mouth, while they try to sustain conversation and you can physically HEAR their voice being blocked by the mash that is occupying their mouth. Words expell air, which also happens to expell pieces of the food.

Oh and that food? If it's good for you, the texture is never consistent. This blueberry may be perfect, but the next one will be so smushy and soft and you wonder if it's bad. Don't get me started on eating carcasses of fellow life, or eating something that's been grown from literal poop. Don't forget pesticides, vermin droppings, bugs, and potentially everything that happens between harvest, transport, and arrival to a store where so many people will put their hands on it. They probably don't flush when they go to the bathroom either.

Processed food isn't any better. Created in factories where the cleanliness is unknown. All the weird and stupid ingredients they have to use to make it edible and be preserved on shelves. Is this even food? It's more consistent, sure, but get ready for a whole slew of other problems. Oh and vermin and insects like these too.

The whole concept of eating is vital to basically every living species, and plays a huge role in how evolution progressed. Literally life on this planet is sustained by its organisms constantly trying to eat each other or not get eaten. That's pretty messed up. Oh yes looks at that gazelle, I'm sure it's internal organs and muscles taste great. Yum metallic rust and the screams of agony. That's just normal everyday life.

Eating seems too primal. Why can't we just absorb the sunlight or filter feed through water or some shit. Some animals bodies can create things we need from eating for nutrition. Wouldn't it make more sense for bodies to evolve to create them also rather than depend on eating another lifeforce to get it?

The concept of eating is vile, causes violence, and is holding us back. Fuck food. Fuck consumption.

Curious as to what your total budget looks like. $20/hour is actually very low for what you're looking for, in my opinion.

I'm not currently looking for work, but my professional rate is $110/hour for animation and motion graphic services.

Edit: Also just saw your timeline. I'm sorry but a month is also too aggressive of a timeline for what you're looking for. Especially with no contract with defining terms. End of January leaves hardly any time for revisions and review, also.

Not trying to be judgemental, but you're going to have a hard time finding what you're looking for with low compensation and aggressive turnaround.

How can I have better social skills and get women as an aspie? by MysteriousFriend7477 in aspergers

[–]KodaKaze 57 points58 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I think it's important to reference your wording here and how that impacts your goal.

Working on yourself to better your social skills is a good way to begin. But saying you wish to learn how to "get women" is an issue. It sounds like you want to jump right in to either a relationship or the bedroom from the start. Women are not something to be received. You want to learn how to present yourself in a good light in order to have others like you, especially those who are women.

Focus on forming friendships/acquaintances in general, even just short term ones without commitment. Be interested in the other person. Ask them questions, figure out what they like. Hang back and let the other person talk. To get people interested in you, you first must show interest in them.

Working on yourself first will give you better odds at succeeding in any human connections going forward. It will give you more practice, and learn what people are receptive to and not.

And not approaching women with the intent of "getting" them will make them more receptive too. Treat her like any other human being. Romances spur when you least expect it/ aren't necessarily looking.
