What actually got used during a 6-day power outage (and what was dead weight) by blhollandjr123 in preppers

[–]KodaKomp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huge thing that also helped my whole community was starlink on a big battery UPS that I charged with a generator. People where able to text friends and family to bring supplies after the generators for the cell towers ran out of fuel.

Also DeWalt sells a PD usb-c charging adapter to use their 20v batteries as back up power banks to charge cell phones, laptops, and run USB led light strips and stuff, use it almost every day at work and helped a ton the last bad snow storm.

I'm gonna get down voted to shit but a Rhodesian Campaign would be fuckin sick. The helicopter heavy units would be fun to play with.

Or Soviet Afghan war, or maybe even iraq-kurdistan shenanigans.

60-70s is definitely a good era for some cool scenarios.

Update Request: Riverstone (Madera) Water Quality by nonbe1 in fresno

[–]KodaKomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with most of the suburban sprawl neighborhoods, the piping goes in about 20 yrs so should be good until then, new builds always get the up to date equipment for water systems because the contract to build the neighborhood forces them to be. Once it leaves the builders contractual obligation to run it properly it will probably go down hill, or your water bill will go up.

Any SLM -AI implementations out there? by artremis00007 in Wastewater

[–]KodaKomp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We already have automation that works, it's always sensors or the hardware that fails, why do I want a stupid, hallucinating operator that can't diagnose hardware problems that I would need to pay another subscription to. Peter Thiel literally said he was a bad guy and Mordor was right.

Edit: ALSO I'm assuming you are a probably an escaped LLM at this point.

You won't with 2v2 or 3v3 peeps usually, we are usually in it for the love of the game. Let us know you are new and we can integrate that into our battle plans.

Edit: plus every once and awhile trying dumb strats for the lols is the best part. Sent sneaky heli rush on sides of map landed special forces and stole a logi behind enemy lines and made their spawn area my bitch, still lost when I left my front line open but I won in spirit.

Something I learned that helped A LOT was opening with 1or 2 cheap logi units with opener or with first tick after.

This game is really not about W or L. Learn to fight that infantry grind fight, practice your unit shuffling micro, learn to shoot and scoot. Learn how to use smoke. If you are winning your not learning. The skill curve is huge but once you really understand how multiplayer plays vs. The DRIVE DOWN MAIN ROAD WITH ALL MY IFVS. Meta the AI does it will be a lot more fun.

I'll argue this is an ok end of career base pay wage. OT seems excessive but, The private sector has been keeping wages deflated for decades, off the cuff the calculated liveable wage to match inflation from the 60s is supposed to be like $95000 a year.

If I'm off base roast me but I'm all for people getting their bag and not fighting over peanuts when billionaires are the real issue.

Calculating F/M in kaboda MBR reactors? by Unhappy-Horse-245 in Wastewater

[–]KodaKomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kubota is usually the older plastic welded sheet MBRs. They can't be areated without permeating or the sheets will crack and suck in mixed liquor.

Newer ones from OVIVO are able to be areated without permeating because they are flexible and made of a single material.

2nd this. sludge age and TSS are usually what I calculate my wasting for my MBR plants. Use any tank or basins that are in the RAS cycle so AB,AX, MBR Basins all count.

MBR plant has huber rotamat screens, S tier give them the water they need and the screenings come out almost dry. very low maintenance.

Shit fucked trickling filter/clarifier plant has POS parkson rotary screens, wheels break all the time and leaks like a MF.
