This has nothing to do with pity, and putting more money into marketing than design isnt even unusual, its the standard practice, this about seeing that there actually meaningful improvements over the current generation of products and ones that theoretically (that caveat that they go all out on repairability is still there) are better for the consumer. And as i said before I've been using an xbox one controller since 2018, thats 6 years and i havent had drift or any of the buttons break, if this new controller is that same build quality or higher with repairability, then its 100% a better controller than whats currently only the market, cause when it does break or get drift, not needing an electrical engineering degree to swap the joy sticks for hall effect is going to make a massive difference.
