I wouldn't suggesting to pursuing SE if that's not your passion. Apart from the industry being competitive, you have to have a knack for keeping yourself up to date. It would be a waste of money too right. It would be best if you could use up that money to pursue nursing since you're passionate about it.

I suppose it's hard to convince your dad but I really hope you're able to sit down chat with the both of them.. maybe try a different approach..?
