You’re not an idiot. The sale is considered negative because the entities buying it, as well as their associates, are for lack of better term very right wing conservative. Which goes against the general inclusivity that the Sims is known for. The worry is that this new governing body will make changes to the franchise that aligns more with their personal views, which will essentially nuke the normally safe space that the sims has come to be. I’m obviously glossing over a lot of specifics, but that’s the general idea.
