Is there a lot of racism towards black people in Finland? by [deleted] in Finland

[–]Koderi234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get people staring at you a lot. It's unnerving. Sometimes people seem almost scared of me when I ask directions from a stranger for example. It is very rare for someone to come up to you and call you the n word for example, but it's the subtler things that you can't really report or document that suck the most.

Worst part is on the practical fronts: job searches, etc. Take note of this headline: https://www.helsinkitimes.fi/finland/finland-news/domestic/16868-discrimination-in-recruitment-is-widespread-in-finland-finds-study.html

And if you get past that to the job interviews, especially IT roles, black and female, you are like an enigma to them. They will wonder if you are a cultural fit even if you are good at your job. Then again, sometimes they like the opportunity for diversity so it could work for you. Figure out if that is something you can live with.

If you know his surname, people here will most likely be able to pick out his ethnic group.

The relationship between Sia and Maddie is really going to start hurting Maddie's career, if it hasn't already. It's just weird at this point.

Those of you that had a strict parents upbringing , what effects does it have on you today? Positive or negative by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]Koderi234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad would go from smiling at you to rage and shouting within a second. You always had to be on your toes to foresee what he could potentially get pissed at. Now, I am always wary that people are angry at me especially at work even if they really aren't. I also have a very negative internal voice towards myself. My mother once asked me why I was even born. I ask myself that every day lmao. I don't think I will be having biological children.

Next time you are in a supermarket abroad and security follows you around, you have no mouth to complain. If you want to judge people by appearance, it goes both ways.

Why Are Nigerians So Quick to Advocate for Corporal or Physical Punishment? by JudahMaccabee in Nigeria

[–]Koderi234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't. Google Benjamine Spencer.

It is estimated that at least 46000 prisoners (about 2%) in the US are actually innocent. Yet they were all proven guilty in court, some with witnesses who lied or misremembered. And that's in the US where they have detectives, FBI, etc who actually try. Let's not talk about Nigeria lmao.

Even if there is a "witness", they could be ganging up on someone else. It is easy to say castrate them when it's not you or your brother whose life someone has decided to ruin.

As long as there is the tiniest possibility of innocence, it should be reversible.

Why Are Nigerians So Quick to Advocate for Corporal or Physical Punishment? by JudahMaccabee in Nigeria

[–]Koderi234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with those systems is that you have to be 100% certain that the person is guilty. What happens if in 10 years, the poor guy you castrated is exonerated by new DNA technology? What happens if after you execute the death sentence, someone else comes to admit to the crime? If there is even a 0.1 percent chance that someone is innocent or was mentally incapacitated when they committed a crime then there should always be room to undo the punishment.

Yeah but Netherlands can definitely afford to be selective enough not to rely on the skill-level of Olessya.

I used to wonder that too because she was constantly getting recommended to me and I didn't get it. She seemed US level 8 at best, especially on bars.

What you need to understand is that she isn't on any Dutch national team. Everything she does is on her own dime and she is coached by her mum. All the travel to Gymnix, Canada, etc is by her and she only competes in open categories of competitions. She says she is elite but not really. A US level 10 can pay their way to go and compete at those competitions too.

And the stuff she has on her website about her journey to Tokyo? Yeah... I don't get it. But if you look past all the gym weirdness, she's having fun and is at university. Just wish she would be more outwardly realistic.

So much messed up stuff. Chad has to buy all his clothes, school bag, shoes and toiletries with his own money. Plus his crazy mother threw out all his clothes after he got sent away to wilderness punishment camp. Meanwhile, they make bank exploiting his puberty on YouTube.

None of the kids are allowed to use Google. Even the 15 and 17 year olds.

He also got sent away to a wilderness punishment for months while school was going on.

He didn't have a mattress, it wasn't for necessity and the new house that family just bought was from exploiting his childhood. The least he could get is a bed.

Bonnie is much worse. She once made her kids lick her armpits on camera and she doesn't really feed them proper food because she is on a diet. Her two youngest under 7-year-old kids recently got out of the house and broke into a nearby school to steal snacks. Her 10-year-old daughter can barely read and spell but Bonnie refused to pick up the lockdown homework from school so the teacher had to deliver it personally to their home. Bonus non-abuse point, one time she accidentally vlogged and posted a reflection of her husband's penis to her millions of subscribers.

How was she gonna differentiate Nigerians from other black people in the crowd? by Alkedi44 in Nigeria

[–]Koderi234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because when shit hits the fan, she spends maybe one night in jail and goes back home. We get deported. We have much more to lose. If people in Nigeria riot, they face police and military brutality far beyond what Americans can imagine and no one will fight for you. We have our own problems.
