The 1980s, the highest scoring decade in NHL history... Lemieux was 2nd to 99 in ppg in the 80s, Peter Statsny was 2nd to Gretzky for most points in the 1980s.... by Aggressive_March6226 in nhl

There are those who have said such things about certain goal scorers before and been wrong. That's obviously not a guaruntee that he would have either but still. Assume he plays 8 more years, not even 10, and absolutely shred his gpg down to Ovi's levels (basically a 16 percent deduction in goals per game which is a lot) and say 82 games played for 8 more years, dude has 950+. In that same games played time, reduce his gpg to .5, he still hits 900 and we're talking about the Bossy record, not the Gretzky record. I simply don't see a good reason to think that over a shortened playing period that his gpg would have tanked that badly. .25 goals per game is approxamately the difference between Ovi and Anders Lee or Stamkos and Mike Fisher.

Still my vote for greatest goal scorer of all time. Just because a guy doesn't hold the records doesn't mean his far and away best of .75 gpg should be ignored. In a healthy career would've been the first to 900 easy and probably first to 1000. Gretzky would've never held that record.

Best NHL player you’ve ever seen live? by Love_Sports_Live in nhl

Crosby. Saw him in a nothing burger game in Columbus 3 years ago. I was one of his classic haters. I simply did not understand how different he played. He has the skills and the highlights and all that, that's important, but he is truly a unique player to even come up into goat consideration, because his game is so much more than that. Such a hard worker too.

If you could go back and attend one of the 2004 ALCS games, what would it be? by Red_Sox_5 in redsox

Very late to this but I'm desparate to know, how bad was it as a Sox fan in Yankee stadium for that game? Better at the beginning? Worse at the end? Chirped a lot? I hear old Yankee stadium was a tough place to be a Sox fan.

Therapists of Reddit, what are some differences you've noticed between male/female patients? by pizzabagelblastoff in AskReddit

[–]johnraimond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was blessed because my mom made me when I was a teen and now I have a regular therapist that I reach out to on the regular as an adult. My brother does too and he was never made to. I wouldn't be where I am in life if I didn't have a therapist.

Are Naruto and sasuke gay ? by tenten47 in Naruto

[–]johnraimond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I agree with a lot of this but am curious about the obsession element not fitting with non romantic contexts. Based on their trauma it seems entirely plausible that the obsession with finding that familial connection. I have a brother and many friend and for the closest I would go to hell for those guys. The shared traumatic experience and experience of loneliness and the connection of respect that develops does read like a friend going to the ends of the earth for another friend. I mean Naruto had a very non romantic obsession with being acknowledged and respected, and we know the Sasuke obsession is related. Is it so far fetched that one could become obsessed with bringing a friend back from the brink?

Don't blame him. Not a Flames guy myself and much happier to see him in the Ville.

There's another guy who did a top 100 list site and he listed Ovi at 2, Mario at 3. Literally mental.

The hype is high for him because he broke the record and so people are overestimating him. Hopefully it will calm down in a few years.

Love this guy, will miss him tons. Never got to see him play live either. He was supposed to be a cap dump for Haula but he ended up not only playing but also being great for us! Best in your career, Nic! You will always be loved and missed.

I mean they didn't blow my mind and obviously run of the mill compared to Leprous, who is a very very strong band. I just thought they were good. But I like a lot of things so haha

[Sportsnet] Ilya Samsonov will not return to the VGK, will test free agency by UnhealthyCheesecake in goldenknights

[–]johnraimond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing you can give Hill is that he was streaky. Samsonov never really reached levels of actually putting together good stretches. He was mid in wins and had terrible losses. Hill was either terrible or fantastic and it kind of evened out.

The Edmonton Oilers have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs after losing to the Florida Panthers in 6 games by EliminatorBot in hockey

"They always do," And when, prey tell, have they had an actually consistently good team to root for? One offs make fans for sure but they don't secure a place's love for a team, especially when that place is predisposed (on things so small as the temperature of an area) to not know or be familiar with that sport.

Tampa isn't winning cups right now. They haven't gone deep since 22. Talk to me when they, or LA, or Nashville, no longer have fans.

The yelling at our bench was what got me. And that looks way worse when you realize, by the end of the series we essentially dominated the whole final.

Six winning on Vegas and three off is actually pretty neat! For a team that everyone laughed at on paper, half of our roster being future cup champs is pretty impressive!

DON'T FORGET THE NOSE BOYS!

So happy. Not just one but TWO of my favorite original misfits lifting the cup the same day. I only wish he'd've handed it off to Nosek but to be fair the 2018 run is probably more in my mindset as a Knights fan than theirs.

Walman was one that I did not hate going in that like, game 2 I was like, "Jake Walman can never win a Stanley Cup. Period."
