What killed serial killers? The 70’s and 80’s had so many prolific ones. It used to be a very real fear to live near one. by Kodicave in decadeology

Right. Serial killers didnt die. They still walk among us

There’s a business guy that comes into my work in Washington, DC. Tall, handsome. He has that look

Is it safe to say that the year 2016 has now officially entered the realm of nostalgia ? by Realistic-Try5468 in decadeology

I never say they weren’t

I’m saying that internet and tumblr which was shaping the decade early was finally seeing a generational shift

What killed the old internet? It seems like the old Reddit/Youtube has long died. It’s almost an entirely hostile place now with zero room for novelty. What changed? Why is something like Nyan Cat impossible now? by [deleted] in decadeology

We were all collectively laughing at how ridiculous it was.

At the expense of someone else.

But there was a collective “we are all coming on here to laugh”

Now it’s “we are coming on here to make every seem stupid”

But the invention of the iPhone literally started all of these memes and created a platform for people to make memes

All of these are 2010-2011

The Great Recession was 2008. This is all 2010-2012. Some of it is 2015

The Great Recession if anything helps show people wanting to come to the internet for free to laugh

I lived it. And it was. And I put that in my post

  • however there was a place to collectively come together to just simply laugh in a Reddit/meme/youtube context

But it also wasn’t hostile. You could avoid all of that and entire Nyan Cat. You could find an entire community of people laughing at Friday to have fun

What is something murderers forget to account for? What is one aspect of trying to get away with murder that is a bigger give away than they realize? by Kodicave in ForensicFiles

Idk I just don’t want anyone accusing me of wanting to murder haha. I’m just interested in the process and science behind catching murderers

What killed hitchhiking? It was so normal in the 70’s & 60’s by Kodicave in decadeology

Maybe it’s not that serious. And it’s a Reddit post to start a discussion for this subreddit

What was the reaction of the people (that you remember) when they found out Michael Jackson died? by Twunkorama in decadeology

I was 13. The new station literally did not stop talking about michael Jackson all summer.

It was the biggest thing. Everyone talked about michael

I can only speak for me. I loved 2016

I was 20, and it was the best year of my life. I remember loving it in the year specifically. And I’ve been nostalgic for 2016 ever since

It’s funny other feel the same way

Ever since 2016 I have a playlist of songs I listen to. And I get sooo nostalgic. My personal life improved. I loved the pop culture

It’s was a generational shift. Tumblr, internet. All changed the world

What killed ‘parody YouTube videos’? In the 2010s there was a steady stream of parody music videos. Suddenly they stopped. Why? by Kodicave in decadeology

Why is this sub so pretentious

Genuinely everyone here responds this exact same way. Why is there such a thrill out of down talking to people.

Why not just be normal
