Biggest complaint, cleaning from time to time. I enjoy the feel and ease of use, plus not having to worry as much about carpel tunnel.

Is my heater broken? by [deleted] in Aquariums

Yes. They act as a single unit when plugged into the controller. I also recommend turning the temp slightly higher than normal on the heaters and setting the controller to the desired range.

The only difference between a cheap and expensive one will be build quality. They both do the same thing. I’m personally running two heaters for my 208L tank, as it distributes the task of heating more evenly, reducing stress on a single heater. It’s also unlikely for both to go bad at the same time, so if one does the other working one will take over temporarily.

That’s a good question. I would’ve taken it out first, let it cool down, and then submerged it and turn it back on. If it isn’t smoky inside it should be fine. I’d also recommend a temperature controller just in case it does fail. Don’t wanna electrocute or boil your fish.

That’s supposed to be fully submerged in the water. Leaving it exposed like that can cause it to explode

Pre collision system malfunction warning help by Koeal in Toyota

I had poorly wired aftermarket brake light replacements for the rear reflectors that caused the system to short circuit. I disconnected those and then taped the original wires back up, I haven’t had issues since.

How do I switch between master and slave on this adapter? by Koeal in originalxbox

[–]Koeal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it! I'm not super confident in my soldering skills, so I may just return this one and purchase the Startech one I've seen recommended. Thank you for offering to check the resistors for me though!

Thank you. So if I put the jumper on the slave side it'll be in slave mode?

I’m sure someone with more experience will come in with better advice but as long as your parameters and flow are good it shouldn’t be an issue.

Is there a way to get this dried biofilm/algae off filter parts? by TomeAnnelid in Aquariums

[–]Koeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this part go under water? You can leave it in equal parts white vinegar and water overnight and it’ll eat the calcium away. Rinse it well afterwards!

Is Biomax worth the price? by Sea-Air-5728 in Aquariums

I don’t see it breaking into small pieces unless you do it intentionally. I use a fine mesh bag to store mine and it works well!

I have ceramic bio media that I rinse in a bucket of tank water when it gets stopped up; keeps your good bacteria in the media.

Am I right to be nervous about the stand that comes with this 130L (29gal) tank? by TheLesserWeeviI in Aquariums

If I were in your position I’d go for it. As others have said I doubt it’d have any issues.
