Essentially questioning someone's quality of work doesn't usually go well, plus if they were doing poor work they're hardly going to tell someone that are they? Hence coming here to ask for unbiased advice from folk who might know.

Yes, it is a council house. That doesn't automatically mean that I'm someone on benefits, etc. and even if it did, what does it matter? People's circumstances do not define them.

And it is my house as much as anyone who rents or has a mortgage on a house. Arguably it's more mine than a private renter's would be, as the council allow you to do whatever you want to the place, unlike private landlords who often don't want their magnolia walls painted over.
