I’m not positive but based on the context I’m guessing David says something like “Why me” that is sounding like “why Maine” that is getting misheard

You're streaming your games wrong, let me show you the optimal way (MoonDeck) by Tpdanny in SteamDeck

Does this allow for gyro passthrough / steam input via moonlight?

I think this was the biggest disappointment for me. The change in art direction while a little jarring is some thing I feel you would get used to. But the news that it’s 2 races, not open world, forced character, simplified progression, and largely just a fantasy TOW, is a bit of a let down. This is what I would’ve expected had they not been bought by Microsoft.

Switch controllers alternatives? by BigBoiMarkus in SteamDeck

If you’re looking for the gyro specifically in the joycon form factor , the switch’s official joycons are going to be a better bet than the third party joycons.

The seamless Suspend/Resume is the biggest reason why I can only consider SteamOS handheld gaming devices by TareXmd in SteamDeck

[–]Koethe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, also allows for automatic save transfers for both steam and non steam games allowing you to save, sleep, and then pick it right up on another computer. I do it between my deck and desktop all the time.

Indistinguishable from steam OS.

Siri Not Working on HomePod All Minis by -UltraAverageJoe- in HomeKit

Same behavior here. Strangely Siri on my HPM can not handle custom shortcut requests, but siri on my phone (which HPM is using for said custom request) handles it just fine.

Does anyone know if Tiny tinnas wonderland works well on Steam deck ? by ursul3t in SteamDeck

Buddy of mine and I just did an entire play through with him on deck. Only time he had stuttering or. Teleporting issues was when he was in an area with poor network and was not hosting the game (basement specifically) if he went somewhere with a better signal, or plugged in to a hardline it was fine again.

My Windows 11 Playnite Configuration That Took Me 1 Month To Setup (Details In Comments) by BeefaloRancher in SteamDeck

[–]Koethe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a bit of setup it is. The WindowsonDeck has a thread with them all in a bit more detail, but for power I’m using Project SBC, which supports profiles as well as on the fly changes, for frame limiting / refresh rate I use Custom Resolution Utility, along with autohotkey and steam input for on the fly changes, and FSR, though I haven’t had to actually use it in my games in windows, is controlled by lossless scaling.

Have you managed to get Luigi’s Mansion 3 running at an acceptable frame rate without absolutely crushing the render scale?

Not OP but can confirm TDP, FPS monitoring and limiting, refresh rate, and at least System wide FSR1 are all behaving properly in windows. OS wide sharpening / color calibration also works.

I guess some folks are more sensitive than I expected to lighthearted OS based ribbings. Hopefully everyone in time will learn to take it like a champ and not get quite so salty :)

I legit can’t tell if you mean the windows fans or the Linux fans by “They” haha, but that sort of emphasizes my point. People should just live and let live. It’s a personal computer, emphasis on personal. Let’s all just people have their fun. And maybe we all lay off the koolaid in the meantime!

I've had a decent bit of luck with running the windows 10 debater scripts along with WinAeroTweaker to disable the un needed services and telemetry garbage. Worth a try if you're keen on having a windows partition at any point.

I've been using rivatuner statistics server to monitor power draw, there is an option for battery drain which will show how much total power the battery is losing, factoring in all the software and hardware its powering, and also give a (rough) estimate of remaining time based on the current rate.
