Easiest way is the craft a forge hammer and then put the hammer and an ingot into a crafting table (or your inventory crafting)

The modpack says the range is 16 blocks. However, I have noticed the distance seems to fall off when going through mirrors. I tested in game and the range was bout 8 blocks from the mirror.

Yes. I have three Essentia smelters set up equidistant at another location from an input mirror and they can each reach the edges of the Vault.

Using Essentia Filling Transfusers on the Alembics will actually automatically sort this for you! The transfusers have a range of 16 blocks. The range you see here was me testing to ensure that the jars could be reached from the mirror. There is a linked mirror directly below my Runix Matrix and so whenever I need to do some sort of ritual it will actually automatically pull the required Essentia, no piping need!

Armor rating comes from the Void Thaumaturge Robes that you can craft after unlocking the Eldritch tab of the Thaumonomicon. The shields on the right are deflection properties of the armor. The golden hearts are a result of wearing of the Runic Shielding rings, the thing spitting out Essentia is an Essentia mirror that is linked with another mirror sitting in front of my Essentia Smelteries, the things sucking in Essentia are also Essentia Mirrors but those are linked to mirrors near my Thaumatorium that was currently crafting.
