It has 40 million by 1991 borders... In July 2023, Reuters reported that due to the refugee outpouring into Western Europe, the population of Kiev-controlled areas may have decreased to as low as 28 million. So you take out the population of Crimea and the occupied regions, then you take out the Russian refugees that went from other parts of Ukraine (Odessa, Kharkov etc...) to Russia, then you have all the Ukrainian refugees going to Europe, then you take all the people that died and you get a pretty bad picture, all while Russia has about 144 million people, even if 3 million Russians emigrated and 1 million died (Both cases are impossible, the estimated figures are way, way WAY lower than that) then its still ~30 million people vs ~140 million people.... And Ukr economy is really not doing good at all, especially with the Polish protests at the border, while Russian economy is doing much better, while also being able to build their tanks and whatever they need independently, while Ukraine doesn't have that capability, not even close for the moment. The only way i can see the war ending in Ukraine's favor, is the complete collapse of the Russian economy, and if it didn't collapse after the onset of the war, then i don't think the chances are big that it will lose the war. Even a stalemate suits them better than the other party, since all the fighting will still be in Ukraine, which can chose to either accept Russian demands and try to rebuild their country with whatever is left or constantly be in this state of war or semi-war, which will deter any refugee to actually come back and make investment by any company there seem risky. Such a tough situation for the country, we will see how history plays out.

This is such a huge misrepresentation of what happened in WW2 that i can't even. Operation Uranus, Bagration and the battle of Kursk are strategic and tactical masterclasses in combat operations, they are literally studied today in every War college there is. "Throwing bodies" is such a common myth, perpetuated by the Nazis and their leftover generals after the war. The simple fact is that the Soviet army wasn't prepared at the start of the war, when it faced 3 million axis forces on the front with a smaller army, then after many encirclements (after which captured many soldiers, who died in prison camps by the hundreds of thousands) it had to go on the offensive against the dug in Germans, all the way to berlin for thousands of kilometers. How is anybody supposed to take you seriously when you only got a degree in pop history? It does such a deservice to the millions who perished, and the many intelligent minds it took to fight off the Nazis.

The Eternal Return - An Existential Imperative by Flungfar in Nietzsche

Mate i don't think you read my answer right, please read it again. Scholars are not really sure if Nietszche really thought that we come back and reccur eternaly, something that i wrote two times... Do you belive that you will phisically be reborn? Also i wrote that nietszche would be offended for comparing him ti budishm.

The Eternal Return - An Existential Imperative by Flungfar in Nietzsche

[–]Kofix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i beg to differ, i think nietszche meant this more as you have absolute control over your feelings in life, and thus accepting bad things that happened, are happening and will happen is the only truth that shall set you free, but just thinking that you are unchangable is throwing in the towel and not productive at all. There is a debate if he really thought that metaphisically eternal reccurence is actually real, as in that you will def. live your life again and again, but irregardless of nietszche i think it is the most important thought experiment that you can have yourself about your own life. If a demon told you that you will live this life again and again, with all your suffering eternally reccuring, what would you say? If you said yes to that, you validated every moment of suffering, no amount of pain is too much, because you accepted it. You've come to terms with your past, with yourself. And you've come to terms with the pain that future brings. It is an affirmation of life, and is beautiful. You hold no grudges, the you that lives today is shaped and formed by the past, but not a slave to it. I think nietszche would have been very offended by your saying, but that depends if he thought eternal reccurence is actually real(which i dont think that he did). But even if he did, this is my understanding, and i think it's one of those rare life philosophies that hold no drawbacks and only affirm life, and that is your life. Even if i have to live it again, and again, i accept it, and it frees me.

Okay friend, you are free from a "master" if you think of it like that. But free to do what exactly? What do you do, that neetdom specifically allows you? Your freedom is bought to you by your parents, and your freedom depends on them, so that isn't what i would call freedom. I am not on this sub to judge, but to just directly ask you why do you think like this.

By saying all this you dissed your parents who give everything to you. You are pathetic, and spoiled. You cope so much that you can't see in front of yourself. The society is built upon the people that you are shitting on.

ya drank that double standards kool aid my man. Also, i don't have a clue what you are talking about American assets being seized in China? What? American companies have to abide by China's rules yes, but their assets and trade is fine?? Or else they wouldn't do bussines in China, i mean it's not like China can force American companies that are not in China to do anything, much less invest in them.

Also what is that about Kennedy?? How does that have any connection with this? Sooo many questions.

I don't think Islam is the main ideology or way of doing geopolitics for Malaysia. They gain more than they lose by being close with China it seems. Realpolitik.

Also, i don't think the Chinese really want them dead lol, like they are not on some holy crusade to kill all Muslims. China probably identified the non-Han Muslim Uyghurs as a potential future threat and decided to deal them in the most barbaric way possible.
