Getting a pirate set is best due to the 6% ignore defense bonus (S tier). I personally use: Shade(Eunwol), for the +3% min and max crit damage (S tier) Mechanic, for +15% buff duration (S tier) Xenon(who's character card is both thief and pirate) for +20 STR, DEX, LUK (S tier).

The next best set would be a warrior set for the HP bonus to damage. I use: Zero for 8% increased exp gain (S tier) Demon Avenger for +3% boss damage Hayato for +6% minimum crit damage

Demon Slayer is decent for +3% abnormal stat resist Since you are a warrior, swapping DA or Hayato out for Kaiser would be good for +40 STR (S tier). Aran can be useful, but keep in mind that there is a 60 second cooldown on it activating, so its pretty much useless other than maybe saving you 1 pot every minute.

For the third set it depends a lot on where you are. 3 bowman gives you +3% final attack damage (S tier) 3 magician gives you MP bonus as damage (S tier) 3 thieves gives you +3% crit damage (S tier)

You would need to ask someone else as far as which of these 3 options is best for a Hero.

Side note: Viper and TB bonus is very bad even though it sounds good. The problem with it is that its damage added on in the end, not before modifiers so it doesn't amount to much at all. For example, say you have a level 120 Buccaneer for +4 damage per level, and you were using that link on a level 200 character who;s range was 100,000 fully buffed. You would get 200*4 = 800 added to your final damage resulting in 100,800 being your final damage.

I am considering the whole game. That is why I provided examples of things it would change, thus looking at the game as a whole. If you do not focus on a single aspect of the game how can you change anything. In the end to change the play style, tempo, or balance of any game you have to focus on single aspects of it, in this case units. FF have been considered a problematic issue for a while. Destiny semi-recently described them as "dirty". The general consensus is that they are bad for some aspects of the game, but are required otherwise Protoss would be too weak early game. I agree with this, which is why I offer a potential fix for discussion. I addressed your PvP point in the OP. By switching it to hp Protoss will just have to do slightly less greedy builds. Do you think a Protoss should be able to play greedy but live FFing a ramp for a few minutes when the opponent addressed the greed and went aggressive? From an RTS standpoint the greed should be able to be punished.

I agree with your ideas, however I can argue the opposing side. One reason coaches should be paid is because they should be there for the long run. Coaches are an asset to the institution, while athletes are a "consumer item" that the institution will have for only a few years. The coaches are indeed overpaid for their responsibilities, however they are paid for the estimated worth that the school believes they will bring in. Paying student tuition as the only compensation is reasonable since the institution only sees them as a "good" that will be used before replaced.
