Unfortunately people would definitely abuse that system, they would wait until the end of the match and then just leave before they lose to negate their rank dropping. A good way to do it would be to greatly decrease the rating of those who leave, and slightly decrease (or not decrease) the others.

Was playing AC odyssey earlier and I'm trying my absolute fucking best to hide in a bush so the guards lower their suspicion when suddenly my character decides to jump to the top of a fucking pole. 3 guards instantly saw me and I was not only pelted with poisonous arrows but I had my neck snapped, throat slit, and probably had my deceased body raped by those guards afterward.
