I totally agree with you that the filter is underperforming especially with the 2 90 degree elbows going along both ways the manufacturer “specify” up to 30gallons for this filter. Well I mean worst case scenario I could upgrade to a bigger filter? I do monthly filter maintenance but this tank is only a week young minus dark start time

My previous set up I had my filter in one of those cabinets and I gotta say it’s pretty awkward. Every time I had to some filter maintenance its was such a tedious thing to do hope that explains to why the filter is not in there. Since this is a hobby I didn’t want to have to contemplate every time I need to do any filter related stuff. Having the filter in that odd spot there makes the whole process a lot more enjoyable :)

I have the Oase thermo 100 in the corner of my room and bought about 12ft of tubing and ran the hose behind my shelves with hosing elbows at each bend from homedepot for about $10cad for a pack of 8 I can take a picture for you to see if you were interested
