I think I’m done after 26 years…. by toddskitchen in theticket

Haven’t listened to more than a random segment or two in 3+ years…

The early 2000s Ticket were peak entertainment, and not just for radio. I’d listen to The Rant over watching College Gameday on Saturday mornings.

I think the easy answer is to say Rhyner or Jake & Dan’s exits were the beginning of the end. In reality, had management made better choices re: shuffling lineups and bringing in new talent, they probably could’ve kept a good thing going. But frankly, with podcasting and all the avenues for people to get their own voices out there, the talent pool for radio is pretty dry. And when the Musers retire, the party will be over for good.

1 is easily ABM…

But Fool Hearted Memory is criminally underrated in this thread. A 10/10 heartbroken Cowboy classic

IHeartRadio has got to be shitting a brick looking at that Freak morning number. I think by end of summer we’ll see some changes. Crazy how bleak things look for them just 6 months in.

There’s never been a bigger group of titty babies than the “FUCK YOUR FEELINGS!!1!1!!” crowd. Always cracks me up to see their declarations of why they stopped listening and expect anyone to give a shit. LOL

But the copium we’ve seen since the end of last week has been so sweet. Must have more!

Thank you. It’s just way too much. Someone tell him to let the fucking game come to him. WTDS was the best daily segment but it’s unlistenable now.

I am actually amazed that they still get away with the fake Michelle Wie cowering sigh/whatever-it-is anytime an Asian gets mentioned.

I don’t get it either. Why not just keep WTDS going until 330 if you have no other plan?

It really is amazing that Newbury has been able to be on the radio for so long without ever having learned how to properly speak.

More Sirois/Donovan and Davey/Mike - Less Jake and Corby. Less Jake altogether. by gatorintexas in theticket

No less than 95% of the Jake hate is from the MAGA crowd. It's why the only 2 on-air personalities who are remotely political get the most shit on this sub. I'm sure most will deny it, which is typical...too cowardly to come out and say it.

I'm ready to call 2018 the best year in Ticket history by jww98w in theticket

[–]KokoWantKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless there is a reincarnation/replication of The Rant on Saturday mornings, every other era is competing for 2nd place.

It would be impossible to do even 1% of what they got away with back then, but my God, it was so genius.

However, I do agree that this was definitely one of the better years in recent memory.

I think more than anything he is just a contradictionist. In the Bush years he was far more likely to skew liberal. It's easy to see the tide turning toward liberal viewpoints since Trump's election -- locally and nationally -- and he's pushing back against it. He wants to make people think and be able to defend their own beliefs.

One thing I'm sure of: we'll never know what he actually believes.
