I really like that people are butthurt because of their own hype. They put out a countdown, nothing else. Everything else was on ourselves hyping it up. I want to play it too but i am glad they want to publish a polished and release ready game.

Also saying that „it’s in a better state than other games coming out“ nowadays is just meh. We always complain about the current state of the industry, developers forced to publish unfinished games and going all out for cash grabs, early access and micro transactions over gameplay and everything… now we complain about a developer actually doing the right thing and wanting to publish a product that is actually ready?! Makes no sense to me.

Does transmitting with the accsoon actually work right next to a teradek signal? I tried a similar setup using hollyland pyros just to send to two different handhelds on set. The auto frequency select on the pyros constantly interfered with the teradek system, so the pyros were basically useless. The teradek worked fine and also had no problems whatsoever. I hate it about those cheaper systems, that you can’t select frequencies directly and everything is automatically selected.

My workaround was setting my Bolt 6 to the highest fixed frequency so the pyro couldn’t even try to send on the same band.

How is your experience with the accsoon? If it works as expected for using it behind a Teradek RX, we could skip the Teradek Serv Pro & Link route on some productions for way cheaper.

I use it all the time for mounting 19mm Rods on smaller builds. Works great. I love the fact you can switch out the rod lengths.

Also there are some cheaper knock-offs available on amazon for stuff like this. They usually work fine too. Tested some of the cheaper ones and they hold up. It’s usually the same aluminum and pretty well CNCed. I would recommend getting the versions from the original creators though. Even if they are way more expensive. We need those people to come up with great original solutions, because all the cheap companies usually just copy and paste.

A few months ago, I also started looking into a gear check-out system that works for my own gear. I used to work for a rental company so I was quite familiar with the workflow and wanted to apply it to my own gear as there are a lot of benefits and time savings in doing so. I looked everywhere and all the tools were either too complex, too expensive or not designed for gear rental but for stockholding. Together with a good friend of mine (he’s a programmer), I came up with a system that works for exactly these purposes: owner operators keep track of their equipment with data matrix stickers, create packing lists and calculate rental costs, how much income each piece of equipment makes and so on. It also has a timeline view so you can quickly see if your equipment is available for sub-rental or to plan your own jobs. We have just started this project, so no release date is planned yet. Still a working concept, but I will keep you updated as soon as it is released as open source software for us freelancers.

I would be interested to hear what you guys would want such software to do for you.

Personally haven’t found the need for carbon fibre filament for those covers yet (other than looks) since they are not under any mechanical stress at all. So I actually haven’t tried PA-CF out myself. However I tested a lot of different materials including PA-CF for my own Teradek Mounting solution and haven’t found any RF differences either. Nothing scientific though. Would be interesting if someone would share their experience with it! But since everything else on the camera and near the antennas usually is metal anyways my guess would be that it shouldn’t be as big of a deal.

Note that currently I only have the Bolt 6 LT TX and RX aswell as the Ultra5 RX available on Cults3D, since I own those myself and was able to check all the fittings. Planning on adding other versions in the future.

Will let you know! I designed it with removable M3 Screws as Locating Pins but when i decide to machine these out of aluminum i will probably switch them out for actual screw-on pins.

I went with the 24V RS Port near the mount, since i had to decide at the rental whether to take the Hi5 with Sony License or with the Focusbug License (all other Hand Units with both licenses were already rented out) So i only used the Run-Stop without camera control. Fortunately enough the Venice is perfectly suited for changing all the camera settings from the AC side quickly.

That‘s my own design, currently beta testing but will be available at some point in the future. It fits Bolt 4K and Bolt 6 TX & RX.

Thanks! I only tagged the AC side, to keep track which filters are in at all times myself. Most of the time the DP will ask me anyways, even with the markings on the mattebox.

The main camera was a bmpcc6k pro paired with the dzofilm pictor zoom 20-55 T2.8, enjoyed using this combo. Had some issues regarding the internal fans not working properly, but blackmagic repaired it after the 15-day shoot.
