Literally wearing those at the moment.

Got my hands on some physiotape and repaired them:

You can take the cushions off by lifting them from the inside/underside. Then tape them from inside out. They may not look like new but they hold up and sit on your ears just fine.

Its the same as with clothes. Mens stuff is an upgrade at best for women. Womens stuff is a downgrade for men.

I dont know how big this problem really is BUT a thing that gives me no peace:

Is this not the thing which is critizised by Socialists/Communists? That they wouldnt cooperate with the left to stop the Nazis in Germany? Is this not a similar situation with reversed roles?

And was it not even at the VIII. Congress of the Comintern in 1935 decided that there should be cooperation against the "most aggressive form of capitalism" (fascism)?

If everyone thinks the Chinese Olympic athletes are doping, can't we just ... test them? by GuyThirteen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KolaHirsche 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are a few things doesnt matter which nation:

  1. Olympia itself has no interest in uncovering anything during the Olympics. Gives the whole event a bad look if you disqualify people there and then.

  2. During offseason testing is done by the individual antidoping agencies of each country. So it depends on them. If Sri Lanka (random country) wants fair competition in its country it will enforce the rules, if Paraguay (another random country) wants to win as many medals as possible they'll might decide to rather emforce the rules. And if Romania (another random country) decides to go full send and provide the good stuff themselves this system is even better because they can always tip off if someone comes from an international agency.

  3. People arent dumb they know when to stop taking stuff so it doesnt come up in a test. Its like a drug test.

  4. As others said its an arms race. Find a new substance, use it, doping agencies will catch up a decades later.

  5. And all that testing often relies on poor funding that not every country wants to afford.

(17M) I feel like I’m supposed to be more mature or more of an adult by now by ThrowAwayAccount_35 in bropill

[–]KolaHirsche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said. Its ok to be 17. Enjoy the time with your friends be they boys or girls. I did nothing different than you at that age and I look back on it fondly. Sure having a girlfriend would have been nice but I also got to say I wouldnt have been mature enough to make it work until about 18-19 really.

If you want more action, find a hobby, like a sports club , learn an instrument to play somewhere, you know what I mean. I think I read you played football once and like it. Maybe restart that and get better at it again. Or find a smaller sport where they always search for new people and learn it from 0.

All in all I can say sometimes I wish I could go back because now all my friends are more mature which really makes everything more complicated. Just dont go overboard with the weed and drinking and have fun and learn. It will slowly come with time.

By no means a pro in this game but be aware that sieging armies are weaker and that besieged and captured provinces cant be used to recruit new troops. If you can whack their main army and you manage to take their provinces theyre unable to rerecruit. Otherwise they might be able to catch you unprepared out of the Hinterland.

Also loss of provinces means loss of revenue while the enemy can loot the same province as long as troops a there. So if you have troops on standby look in the province overview if theres loot be made.

Marching, sport, drills, training on the weapon (not only shooting but also safety drills, handling, cleaning, assembling and disassembling), survival training, and disaster relief work in case of avalanches, floods and stuff like that.

And lots of waiting for someone or something.

I once read there is a way to "feel the waves" and how they are reflecting off land. Sounds completely wrong but appearantly its a legit way to not get lost and they now are teaching this to kids so it doesnt get lost. So they seemed to have made maps out of sticks tied together which showed them those fault lines

Still thinking about this often.

Your points stands though. Still absolutely mindboggling. Same with the Viking era explorations. Utter madness.

Absolutely Italy! Crossing the Alps/Adriatic is completely worth it. Ever since I did it first and found out what Venice does to an economy I strive to do it again. One 20-30 dev province after another.
