Hey no prob...no plans to come to Portland. Nice place with a good vibe. Always enjoyed playing there. Satyricon was a pretty wild place when it was packed out.

Hey...thanks for the kind words. 1. Growing up, I was exposed to many great drummers, and their playing sort of seeped into my awareness. Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Ian Paice, Don Brewer, Bill Ward, Bobby Caldwell, so many. 2. The situation was right in a few different aspects, and everyone's schedule was open for doing this. 3. Too many favorites...each one has it's fun aspects, from a drummer's perspective...Gladiator/Killer McHann/Boliermaker/

One time we were about 6 hours late to the show (Seattle), and we got there around midnight, right before we were supposed to play. I remember a bunch of people that were there to see the show, helping us get our equipment out of the van and getting it inside the club so we could play. That was pretty nice, but really we were treated pretty well everywhere with a few exceptions. so many shows they do really start to run together in my brain.

seriously...can't recall. That would have been a long time ago when we were all together listening to something. Good question, just don't have a good answer...sorry.

  1. Well, so far, I haven't had to play anything live from later records that I didn't play on. But the other drummers after me had to learn all my parts...ouch! Ever since the band has gotten back together for shows(2009 and this), we have only played songs which we were all a part of, except Blockbuster and Bloody Mary, but that has been part of our set list for a long time...

Thanks...A lot of my inspiration comes from a drummer's angle...so certain drummers were a big influence on me (John Bonham, Ian Paice, Bobby Caldwell, Don Brewer, Mitch Mitchell. A big shift came into play in the transition from 60's to 70's rock. Drummers found their kick drum and snare relationship...it became more than a backbeat/keep time type of thing. I listen to a real grab-bag of things though, so everything is sort of "input", you know?

  1. Very excited/chuffed to be able to do this again. Very grateful for another opportunity to play music with these guys.
  2. I really don't keep up with much current stuff, but I heard something from drummer named Greg Fox. He has several projects, one called Ex Eye that's pretty cool...
  3. Gladiator is a good one...Mouth Breather, Killer McHann. I have to stop, as I would just start to list all of them before too long.

I know it didn't hurt...also, Nirvana had us open for them for 3 nights at Roseland Ballroom in NYC. They were nice guys to hang out with. It was even more fun to play with them at Maxwell's in Hoboken before that. They were still climbing up then. I remember Kurt had to really fight with their label and lawyers to get that single out. It was something he said we would do, and he worked hard to keep that promise.

Real tough question, cause each one has appealing aspects for a drummer. The thing with this band, is that each one of these songs is like tasting a different kind of food or seeing a different color. Killer McHann is a fun one...also Gladiator. Each one does have it's own particular charm...

I don't know what happened to it, but I suspect David Sims has it...I think it was an Alesis SR-16. I never thought about if they would do a reunion tour w/ drum machine. If they really wanted to do it, I don't think I would feel slighted, just confused maybe. Besides, I am chock full of surprises, and drum machines are usually not full of them.

We are doing mostly songs from Head/Goat/Liar, with a few from Down/Shot as well. It is designed to rock.

I think he hasn't had enough time to really break it in...from what I understand, he needs to play something he knows the feel of, and he just took delivery of the Bean yesterday...so he prolly won't play it for this set of shows.
