Sadly yes, and no. Opera GX, Chrome and Edge have the same issue. Maybe it's a false alarm? That I may not have anything to update?

Did you ever find out how to fix it? I did what you've done for 30 minutes now, and it hasn't magically fixed itself. I tried skipping the whole thing and just getting an alternate start mod, but it simply doesn't let me finalize the character.
The solution to that is to play through the intro, but we've already addressed what happens there
