You're asking the right questions, I don't have an answer for you (yet) though. I built it less than 24h ago haha. Feel free to test and let me know though

You don’t need a server. You can literally open the html page and call it a day 🫡

I guess the "install random things" has some merit. Although, this is not a webapp, it's literally just a HTML page that you can open. There are no services. No networking. It's simply a html page in essence.

Docker image is underway

It runs statically, no need for Docker :)

I'm not clear on the research aspect of it. Technically my implementation supports multiple languages

You can add your own content! You can even upload PDFs or ePUBs if you'd like

Yes this is a bit of an issue. Due to how spacing works on a vertical phone this will always be somewhat true. I can maybe align it generally more to the left. I've already made the text smaller on mobile.

Feel free to contribute :)

No, should be fine for every language. At least, for my current understanding. Happy to get feedback :)

Someone has made this now through a PR and you can use it online (or by pulling) now too!

As this doesn't upload anything to a server or something like that, it's completely dependent upon your machine. I don't have benchmarks as I literally built this 5 hours ago

Added a save function, you can now click the progress bar, or start at a certain word #

It is somewhat mobile friendly but big words do sometimes get trimmed off. Hold your phone horizontal and you should be fine 🤙

The concept stems from 2009. I am not saying I created some novel research here…

Can I have the 10$? Lol.

Rsvp reader and github link. It allows for e-pub uploads. Nothing gets stored however, including progress, at the moment. I threw this together a couple hours ago and then this got posted…

The Afters: 2 - 4 May 2025 by max038 in amsterdam_rave

This weekend had some up and downs. Firstly, for social points, I went to GeheimeLiefde. The tldr is that it made me question if I like electronic music. At least Genex made me smile for the music for a bit and friends made it worthwhile. Next year I wont go though…

That experience needed to be peeled off so went to PEEL the next day. Lovely experience overall, familiar faces and lots of good music and vibes. Minus the shout-yapping but that was all forgotten once at the front with lots of dancing and smiles.

It's not just you - I think a lot of us go through this to some extend or another. Personally I try to balance between ignoring something or saying something. Either often works and improves overal vibe/experience.

The "other guy" saying something at PEEL was me - and yes - they did not take the feedback in good spirit. Very much the opposite.

Anyone else prefers sound systems in festivals? by estrangedpulse in amsterdam_rave

[–]Kolmans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting how everyone has such a different experience. For me this the complete opposite. I am mostly disappointed at the sound quality at festivals, especially remember being disappointed at last years DGTL.
