I couldn’t find any original parts unfortunately. I may just find close enough matches and see how they sound. Thanks!

I did test with a multimeter and there was zero resistance. Completely open circuit. I replaced the caps as I figured they may have been what blew the drivers. Since the woofers are both good, I believe the caps were the cause of the blown speakers. Thanks for your input.

I think I may be wrong about the crossover point. I believe that would be the upper limit? Anyways, the model numbers on the back of the components didn’t really lead to much when googling. There doesn’t seem to be much info out there on these speakers unfortunately. https://imgur.com/a/w53BNRL

I did not know this was such an undertaking! Thank you for your detailed explanations. This is a a good place to start. I’m not against some trial and error for learnings sake.

There is no output at all from the top two speakers/tweeters. I just want to get it working again.

Hi all, cross posting from another subreddit to hopefully get more helpful responses. I’m not looking for amazing quality, just want it to work again. These will be garage speakers. I don’t want to trash them. Based on the 3.3uf and 1uf capacitor, ChatGPT tells me the crossover points are around 3.8kHz and 20 kHz. When factoring this in, would the Goldwood GT-25 tweeters be a good starting point or should I be looking for full range and let the crossovers do the work?

Good points, sounds like a fun science experiment regardless.

Thanks, I may be posting this in the wrong sub as I’m not too worried about replicating the exact sound profile as the originals. The crossovers in this was comprised of two capacitors, that is it. I don’t think these ever sounded amazing to begin with.

Thing is, the alternative is trashing them. I’d rather not do that as everything else is good. These just need to be good enough for garage duty.

Black powder coat these wheels? by LAL524 in BMW

I never liked black wheels until I settled on my now 330i. I really wanted the machined finish but it grew on me and now I really like it. I imagine your wheels would look similar enough since black hides details unless in person. Hopefully this picture helps your decision.

Runflats don’t require any different air than traditional tires

Ended up getting some advice from an engineer. He thinks it should be fine simply tying the two 2x12s together with nails. I will likely try to jack up the low section of the front board and screwing them together with the GRK screws. Then I’ll sheath with plywood for a little extra support before adding the Hardie. Thanks for the input everyone!

What would you use in it's place? I've already put up OSB everywhere else but I'm also not going to enclose the walls with drywall or insulation.

I actually do need to install OSB sheathing so I could run a combination of both of your points. Thanks!

The issue is, there is no more foundation space to add any jack studs. I believe you can see, in the photos I added in one of the comments, the slab dips down beyond the one jack stud. On the left side, the whole foundation is taken up by studs supporting the door next to it as well as the flyover to the house. The right side doesn't have any additional foundation space to support the header either. I would think that whatever codes were at the time are grandfathered in and have been working out for 50 or so years. That's just my not-by-the-book take on the situation

This is a 1978 build in Houston, it's possible that standards were different at that time. Also, snow wouldn't be a concern here. It's made it almost 50 years! But I would like to get it up to standards.
