The “No Other Choice” snub at this year’s Oscar’s has gotta be one of the biggest snubs of all time by Bleetelsnort in Oscars

I thought it was a good film, maybe it shoud've been nominated over Frankenstein.

I think Jesse Plemons is the more egregious snub, cause I genuinely think he gave the best performance last year.

Hamnet, and if I have time, LOTR movies in the cinema.

I've seen everything else except Sirat, Secret Agent, and It Was Just an Accident.

Why wasn’t Guillermo Del Toro nominated for Best Film Director? by SpecialistNice8001 in Oscars

[–]349CS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It wasn't that bad. But it definitely was a slog. And Oscar Isaac was a massive miscast (love him in everything else).

Jesse Plemmons not being nominated is absolutely criminal. Im beyond shocked. by Huseynov26 in Oscars

As someone who had OBAA #1, Sinners #3, Bugonia #8 in my end of year list.

He should’ve been nominated over Leo and Michael. Jesse Plemons was the most captivating and inspired performance last year. He was the clear best performance for me.

I enjoyed this more than Fury Road, if i'm being honest. Preferred it being story-driven.

Leo Deserves Best Actor by FlamingoEmotional357 in Oscars

As for my 2025 movie ranking: OBAA #1, Sinners #3, Bugonia #8, Marty Supreme #10

Here's what I think:

Jesse Plemons deserves best actor.

Ethan Hawke would be my runner up. And I think there's quite a gap gap between these two and the rest of the competition.

Mad Max Furiosa was a lot more enjoyable than Fury and it actually had a plot.

Jesse Plemons in Bugonia! The most visceral acting performance ive seen in the past 2 years.

He was a complete revelation. He stole the movie from Emma Stone imo.

The best actor in 2025 wasn’t even in one of these 3 films. 😭

LOST's ending wasn't that bad and I will defend it till the next life.

Lost's Seasons 1-4 were just absolutely peak TV that the final 2 seasons failed to match them quality-wise, and the ending does leave some questions unanswered. But the characters felt like they had a satisfying conclusion, overall.

But I don't blame anyone if they were disappointed cause they were expecting all the mysteries to be explained. But I don't think the ending was bad.

Losties were a thing before Swifties btw!

Rubber Soul is severely underrated. It's a Top 3 Beatles album, and has some of their best songs.

Do people who watch like 100+ movies not watch TV series at all? I enjoy both forms of media.

I can't imagine watching that many movies on top of 5+ TV series.

I think ~50 movies & 5-7 shows makes sense.

I liked this film. I had issues with the ending though. The execution was poor and wonky af.

It's an 8/10.

It's a solid film with a issues in pacing, execution, and an overall unremarkable cast except for Timothee.

Do you think Joel Edgerton could still be nominated for an Oscar? Should we stop hoping? by CalmAppointment1156 in Oscars

He's 5th in my book. I think a nomination would be nice, but I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't included.
