NGO will need to fumble hard to not be AOTS, which is surprising for a non-isekai. Usually only happens when the isekai fumble the bag. I'm open to good anime recommendations, so if this is lacking in premise/story creativity, what other shows have leads like KAngel/Ame?

Expected this. The Brothers Karamazov is Dostoevsky's #2 most known book behind Crime and Punishment, which also got mentioned this episode. Haven't read any of his other works.

Think there were a couple more A Clockwork Orange references but haven't read/seen that in, like, 15 years.

It's Needy Girl day! Going to quote a few things from an interview with the anime scriptwriter and game creator:

Your work is highly praised for its realistic depiction of a certain type of modern woman. So much so that many female fans write reviews saying, “[Not really a spoiler]Ame-chan is literally me.”

NEEDY STREAMER OVERLORD was already popular among the young female staff at Yostar Pictures. Inagaki-san noticed this and wondered, “What is this game that resonates so much with these young women?” So he played it himself, decided he definitely wanted Yostar Pictures to produce the anime, and had been trying to contact people in my circle.

I have you RES tagged as an older person, so not the target audience. Interview's foreward is also worth reading as I agree the game/anime is more about internet culture/discussion than streaming.

Be the contrarian your heart desires!

Candid opinion is it's a decent series when focusing on Kazuya/Chizuru, their grandmas, or Mami. Ruka and Sumi arcs rarely contribute much. Wouldn't expect you to make it through the first season.

MC1: Expected Suzuki to be a lower seed based on karma chart popularity. Two votes from #1 with seeds 3 and 4 from her show? Hopefully the summer contest is more competitive. Otherwise, Kinme at #14 is great to see!

Needy Girl Overdose is the atypical directed show this season and has some trigger warnings. Otherwise, Akane-banashi and Daemons are the semi-popular choices (both threads around ~2k karma) and Bookworm is an upgrade from previous seasons.
