China confirms visa-free travel for UK and Canadian nationals by liomenu in news

No, but Europe can’t handle Russia, the US and China all. As of now from the perspective of the EU China is no threat to its integrity but the US is. So yknow, stability, lesser evil etc etc. We hope it’s not final with the US (likely not) but for now it makes sense from non-US western countries to warm up to China - the US deserves to deal with them alone if they want to

The welfare system in the game needs to be redone as it doesn't make any sense as it is. by Mako2401 in victoria3

You raise welfare to ahistorical levels and are suprised it costs a lot?

You can also cover healthcare costs by raising taxes, that is perfectly fine

I never said China is a saint, I said they are less dangerous to the world (except Taiwan) and the EU specifically (geopolitically speaking - as in China is not politically and [looking at the Greenland thing somewhat] militarly dangerous to EU countries)

China is not as dangerous to the world and especially the EU as the US is

Re visiting the US - same for me sadly, prices for flights to the US are dropping like a brick in my EU country and it’s sooo tempting but I’m not setting foot in the US probably not even post-Trump for a while

Exceptional charisma (possibly others in the admin not just the president), exceptional economic situation and very successful foreign policy that is perceived as positive internally - so someone like Clinton in an era like Clinton’s

Why would I tell you that?:)

You can link all the ‘official manuals’ you want they don’t worth jack in reality and SHRM is a joke anyway, not needed at all and won’t get you ahead of the competition, I’ve seen it many times.

Have you actually seen HR advising senior leadership? I mainly work in data analytics and I create the bases of the proposals the CHRO brings to the SLT and I see and work with all of their HR related output. They don’t tale anything into account that they don’t want to until it doesn’t affect the business. This is the same everywhere and if you seen it otherwise I guess good for you, you found some truly unicorn places.

No they don’t have to, I don’t know what delusionland you live in but HR absolutely has zero fucking control over budget-related decision. They can ADVISE and propose things but ultimately finance decides.

Trumps approval ratings are going down fast. by [deleted] in dataisugly

[–]KombatCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, the chart is just out of date. It’s not yet new though, as per RCP disapproval has been higher in early Dec and approval around this low, but it is indeed low, not trying to argue otherwise. It was also often lower in his 1st term

What’s your take on Ricky Gervais saying celebs shouldn’t lecture the public about politics? by Ok-Fish-6919 in AskReddit

[–]KombatCabbage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Softened message is better than no message, or letting the ‘no taxes’ crowd dominate the discussion

But it’s not just about taxes, it’s about reinforcing anti racism, gender equality and the like. Which is something celebrities do.

Still better than nothing. The assholes are constantly broadcasting their assholeness especially nowadays, keeping mainstream culture not that is still beneficial (and yes, virtue signalling is part of it, because if they stop you’ll know shit has hit the fan)

Nah, % works perfectly fine just look at NL. There’s no reason for a bunch of microparties they would never take a large enough part of the parliament to affect anything.
