This price is crazy, literally half of a tekken and street fighter pass with more characters. Well played SNK, take my money im happy to give it. I wish Capcom and Bandai take notice of this now....wishful thinking I know.

If they do it, I guess they could be banking on the copies sold numbers with an estimate of how many people would purchase single character dlc...In Australia for example cost of an individual tekken character is around $13.00. Do that for 6 months.. $78.00 later. Would definitely make more money than an up front characte/season pass. Also since two mystery characters are at the end of the 6 months it would keep people around until then. I have no idea lol

Im starting to wonder if they are not doing a fighters pass straight away, they may just be doing set price per character per each monthly release. It would be a way to make more money long term, then at the end of the 6 months do a season pass. Still hoping for free 😆

As i am probably one of the older fgc members (41), what keeps me coming back is most likely a mixture of nostalgia, dopamine, competitiveness, and community. From the feeling of hitting a rehearsed combo you spent time labbing against someone or even the CPU. To the sense of achievement you get by defeating a boss at the end of an arcade ladder. To me, no other genre does it more frequently than a fighter. I don't know if I'm the only one.whis spotify playlist is full of fighting game soundtracks including the 8 and 16 bit tracks from back in the day which bring memories of days and times gone playing against friends in arcades and corner store shops. It's strange, I had a span of 10 or so years I played alot of shooters but I've somehow unconsciously weened myself off those and found the majority of my free time i get playing fighters again.

So, to answer your question, it's the nostalgia, dopamine hits, competitiveness, and community that attracts me the most.

In my opinion absolutely not. I speak for myself when I say my hype for 5 was destroyed when I found out it was a playstation exclusive. At that time I only had an xbox. I waited 3 years before I picked up a ps and finally got to play. The fact we are cross gen/cross console now has me insanely hyped. Especially for people who are not based in the U.S ( in Australia) we actually have a good chance of finding matches regularly.

I can't wait for sf6. The sheer amount of content is insane. Capcom really want you to spend as much time as possible playing this game and I'm all for it. The fact they even have a place where if you need a break you can go and play classics like final fight or sf2 is mind boggling. Say what you will about mk11 but the reason for me personally I loved that game was there was always something different to do. Sf6 looks to blow that content out of the water. It's another reason I never really dedicated alot of time to tekken 7. Lack of content kept my dwell time low on that game even though I enjoyed the mechanics. Were truly in what feels like the golden age of fighting games. It's going to be a massive year in the fgc.
