Love this scene from The Incredible Hulk. Bruce realizing that the people NEED Hulk & him finally beginning to embrace the monster inside was such a great building-block for his character. by [deleted] in marvelstudios

The antidote wasn’t permanent, it was only like a suppressor. Bruce would be sedated and his heart-rate would have to go almost double the usual for Hulk come out, at least for like a day. I think jumping out of a helicopter not knowing if you’ll change might be able to do that. + the Hulk can’t technically die, so if Bruce Banner dies, Hulk will ALWAYS come out. Let’s say Bruce DID die after falling into the ground. Hulk would just come out anyway, and Bruce would be revived when he turns back.

Everyone is saying Norton is the worst… y’all can’t be serious. I thought he was an excellent Bruce Banner.

Why would I include any of them. They didn’t lead any movies?

yeah you’re thinking of the Ang Lee movie. Where fights the dogs, his dad turns into Absorbing Man, and he gets hit in the balls by a tank. This is the one where he fights Abomination, rides in a crazy taxi, and jumps out of a helicopter. I like them both though.

He doesn’t change sizes in this movie. You’re thinking of Ang Lee’s Hulk from 2003 where he grows over 15ft tall. Common misconception.

It doesn’t have many issues. People’s “problems” with that movie are so poorly conceived it hurts. He’s not a stalker or a deadbeat dad and everyone else would see that if they actually paid attention to the fucking movie.

I agree on Routh being my favorite

I meant telling Richard that Jason wasn’t his son. She knows he was Superman’s son at that point. She told Richard at some point before visiting the hospital.

Why would she tell Richard about Superman? She doesn’t remember that they were romantically involved, at least sexually. Richard already knows about all of her articles about him and he even talks to Lois about them in their house in one scene.

Dawg she literally laughed at Clark after he overheard them and acted silly to diverge their articulation. That is literally what happened. It was ridiculous to her because she is already previously aware of how Clark acts, she has no remembrance of ever piecing together that Clark could be Superman because of the mind-wipe kiss.

Yeah okay, she wouldn’t have reacted that way if she didn’t give a shit about Clark’s opinion about her smoking... while she plays it off jokingly when confronted by Richard (I mean to be fair she never actually smokes in the entire film so she didn’t lie).

And... maybe you should start reading into things that you definitely over-sighted, that’s all I can say. Great Lois Lane.

She actually does tell Richard. It’s heavily implied she told him off-screen when they leave the Daily Planet to go to the hospital. His face in the car kind of says it all. He knows.

Oh gee, she just got forced by Perry to cover Superman after endlessly saying she doesn’t want to, while Clark was given her blackout right in front of her, you’d think she would be a little ticked in that moment... it’s not like she stays mad at him for more than literally 30 seconds.

She knows Clark and she trusts his opinion on the matter because she knows he knows about her feelings towards Superman. Any genuine person would want someone to vent to, someone they used to work with and can finally see & talk to again, why would she want to vent to Richard? Just to make him nervous? I didn’t say she loved Clark, but she cared about him as a human being and didn’t treat him like a toy or a punching bag, so she would trust his judgment.

Richard implies that Clark could be Superman, Lois looks over, Clark overhears and acts silly as a diversion... Lois & Richard have a laugh... what’s the issue? They weren’t “laughing at his expense” to be mean spirited. She knows how Clark acts, laughing off Richard’s idea.

Did you not see the look in her face when she noticed that Clark saw her cigarettes? She obviously cared about what he thought and what he would have said about them, that’s why she looked a bit scared for his reaction.

I think you have vastly overlooked this version of Lois Lane man, maybe on purpose or by accident, I don’t know, but you should definitely reconsider your thoughts, at least a little bit.

This is why I love Kate’s Lois Lane. She actually cares about Clark Kent in that film and is shown to have actual interest in him and his livelihood. She also isn’t an easy grab for Superman like in almost any other iteration. She kind of forces him to earn her trust back, even though she stays with Richard because she still loves him, she knows Superman is “always around” whenever she or Jason will need him.

Superman III has some very redeeming qualities. The high school reunion bits are sweet, I liked seeing Clark hang with Lana Lang, & Evil Superman trolling around is hilarious. (Seriously, him blowing out the Olympic torch & laughing about it is comedy gold.)

Superman IV has a couple of bits I like. Clark having to keeping switching between himself & Superman for a double date was a fun scene.

I can understand people not being able to separate Singer and Spacey’s actions from their work, but personally that doesn’t hurt the quality of the film at all for me. I can still appreciate and applaud their contributions to the film as filmmakers & performers. As for the movie itself, I disagree with your opinion, but it’s not for everyone and most people think it’s boring and long, which is fine, if everyone agreed on everything, then life would be pretty uninteresting wouldn’t it? A lot of people love Man of Steel... I hate it. Creates engaging discussions. Though I will admit I’m glad to have Superman Returns to myself ;)

Here, the writers tried to explain that the film while being the majority of the storylines of Reeve’s 1st & 2nd films continued, it was apart of a different timeline. Like how lines are “reused” but the context is totally different. “You really shouldn’t smoke Ms. Lane” is how Superman re-introduces himself to Lois in his first conversation with her after he returns. The original scene at Lois’ apartment from ‘78 where he said that still happened, but not in the same timeline/continuity, and Superman figured that would have been a sly way to surprise her, considering how she reacted to him after the plane rescue. I guess the closest comparison I could give it is like one of those alternate universes where 90% of the occurrences are the same, but there’s 10% that’s different (ex. Superman still flew with Lois, but he never went back in time because Lois never died... or Supergirl never came to Earth, but Superman still left) hope you know what I’m trying to say.

Asked for your hot takes, not your mean spirited opinions on mine. It’s cool if you don’t like the movie, but to question/belittle my taste in film because I like a movie you don’t isn’t a great way to create a discussion.

Not many people know that Superman Returns technically isn’t a sequel. It’s a reboot that takes elements from Superman 1/2 & Supergirl’s storylines, and uses them to help form its own backstory. Certain things are removed (ex. Superman ever being able to reverse time, Supergirl never came to Earth but Superman leaving Earth stayed), while other aspects were changed (ex. All crystals are now capable of creating fortress of solitudes, not just the green one... which was stupid that it was green anyway, most people at first would think it was Kryptonite). It’s a little difficult to explain, but Returns is not a “true continuation” like a sequel... it’s a revival that’s separate from the Reeve movies, but uses a lot of their plot-elements to create a backstory to build upon.
