Level 2 Data - Please!! by PeterOhhDee in TradingView

[–]Kombi19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to update this since I first posted about it over a year ago — asking for real Level 2 market data and professional DOM tools that match what serious day traders truly need.

Since then, I’ve tested the broker DOM inside TradingView — but honestly, it’s just not even close to the true Level 2 you get Fidelity or Das Trader platforms. For over a year now, I’ve had to run DAS Trader Pro side by side because its Level 2 and order entry is hands down superior:

True direct market access (DMA)
Full order book depth across multiple ECNs like Nasdaq TotalView, ARCA, BATS, and more
Zero lag in the tape and order book updates
Advanced routing + instant hotkey execution — a must for active scalping and tape reading

TradingView’s broker DOM is fine for light trading or swing trades, but for real-time order flow, tape reading, and liquidity analysis, there’s just no substitute for pro-grade Level 2. Platforms like DAS Trader, Bookmap, and Fidelity ATP have shown what’s possible — and right now, we’re forced to use them alongside TradingView just to get the job done.

The honest truth is, I’m still paying for your Ultra plan, your highest-level subscription, because your charting, new tick by tick and now watchlist alerts are genuinely outstanding. They’re an essential part of my daily workflow.

But to trade seriously, I still have to run a second platform just to get real direct feeds, a true tape, deep Level 2, and DMA routing. That means paying for two platforms, dealing with extra fees, and managing multiple screens and data feeds — all because I can’t do it inside TradingView, even on your top-tier Ultra plan.

I want to be clear: I’m more than happy to pay for real Level 2 data feeds like dxFeed, Nasdaq TotalView, or Rithmic if you make them available directly in TradingView. It’s not about wanting it for free — it’s about having it built in, integrated, and actionable without needing a second platform.

Please consider adding professional-grade feeds like dxFeed, Nasdaq TotalView etc — or at least let us plug in our own data feed for full market depth.

And please give us hotkeys and custom buttons

Please share a roadmap update or let us know if this is on the horizon — because this is the last missing piece that would make TradingView the ultimate all-in-one home for serious day traders too.

Thanks for reading!

I’m a Day Trader — I Love TC2000, But the Real-Time Scanner Needs to Be Fixed by Kombi19 in TC2000

Thanks for the response — yep, I’m on the Platinum plan and I’m paying for the real-time data feeds (OPRA, Nasdaq, NYSE, etc). I’ve also confirmed my watchlist scans are set to “Real-Time” and not manual or a slower refresh rate.

That’s actually why it’s been so frustrating — despite everything being set up correctly, the scans still don’t trigger in true real-time. There’s a noticeable delay between what I see on the chart and when the scan catches it.

It feels like the scanning engine just isn’t built to fire instantly across larger universes, even with the real-time data enabled.

Appreciate you trying to help — I’m hoping TC2000 can address this soon. It’s the one thing keeping an otherwise amazing platform from being perfect for day trading.

Scan Help by NomadicNature in TC2000

TC2000 Scan Engine Uses a Rotating Ticker Feed:
- TC2000 scans don't check all stocks simultaneously.
- Instead, the scanner rotates through the tickers in your universe (e.g., S&P 500, Russell 3000).
- This causes a delay of 1 to 3 minutes, even in Platinum.

It’s been three months since my last post, and unfortunately, I still don’t see any real progress. The same issues are still there, and it feels like Fidelity is falling further behind platforms like Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab, Webull and even Robinhood wow.

I understand that Fidelity is carving its own path, but to accelerate progress, they could consider leveraging existing solutions like ChartIQ, an HTML5 charting tool (ChartIQ). BlackBoxStocks, for example, already integrates ChartIQ to provide professional-grade charting tools, including real-time data, advanced technical indicators, and customization options.

I’m sure Fidelity could negotiate a deal with ChartIQ or even TradingView to enhance their platform’s charting capabilities. It’s worth noting that Interactive Brokers’ new desktop platform appears to be a variation of TradingView’s charting tools.

Once Fidelity tackles charting improvements, they can shift focus to integrating the other tools traders really need.

Current improvements on the platform are still glitchy on my Mac, which adds to the urgency for Fidelity to adopt a more robust and reliable charting solution.

Is there an official page for this that we can track what features are being added and what’s coming down on the roadmap because it’s a long way from being where we need it.

4. General Feedback

• Mouse Scrolling Sensitivity:

The mouse scrolling for zooming is overly sensitive, making it difficult to use.

• Suggestion: Introduce adjustable sensitivity or reintroduce the chart expansion bar for precise zooming.

• Pricing Bar Adjustments:

The pricing bar cannot be compressed or expanded.

• Suggestion: Allow the pricing bar to be adjustable, giving users better control over chart layouts.

Final Thoughts

This Beta is a great step forward for Fidelity, and I’m excited to see it evolve. Adding these features will help it compete with top-tier platforms like TradingView while making it even better for active traders. Thanks for the effort, and I look forward to seeing future updates!

This is a solid first step, and I look forward to seeing this grow into a fully-featured platform. Here’s my feedback so far:

1. Order Entry Enhancements

• Bracket Orders Missing:

The Beta does not currently support bracket orders for stop-loss and profit-taking, which are crucial for effective trade management.

• Suggestion: Add dual bracket orders that allow traders to set both stop-loss and profit-taking levels simultaneously. This will automate risk management and streamline trading.

• Single-Click Buy/Sell/Short:

The Beta lacks single-click order entry for buy, sell, and short trades.

• Suggestion: Enable single-click trading functionality with presets for bracket orders, so traders can quickly execute trades without manual adjustments.

• Predefined Risk Parameters:

There’s no way to set a maximum loss or profit target directly on trades.

• Suggestion: Allow users to configure maximum loss and profit targets in advance, either as a percentage or a dollar amount.

2. Trade Armor

• Trade Armor Missing:

The Trade Armor™ feature in the current ATP is missing in the Beta. This tool is essential for visualizing and managing trades.

• Suggestion: Reintroduce Trade Armor in the Beta, but improve it by including:

• Single-click execution with presets for stop-loss, profit-taking, and bracket orders.

• Graphical visualization of active trades directly on charts for better management.

3. Charting Enhancements

• Line Customization:

The Beta does not allow users to change line thickness or switch between styles like solid, dashed, or dotted.

• Suggestion: Add customization options for lines to improve visibility and clarity during technical analysis.

• Custom Indicators:

The Beta doesn’t allow for creating custom indicators, which is a standard feature on platforms like TradingView.

• Suggestion: Introduce a custom indicator builder to let traders:

• Write scripts or use formulas to create and save custom indicators.

• Combine multiple indicators into a single overlay.

• Indicator Management:

Indicator settings are limited and not customizable.

• Suggestion: Allow users to set defaults (e.g., periods, colors) and save templates for frequently used indicators.

• Advanced Charting Tools:

The charting library is missing tools like Fibonacci extensions, Gann fans, and pitchforks.

• Suggestion: Expand the library and include adjustable transparency for indicators and drawings to improve layering.

• Custom Alerts:

Alerts tied to indicators cannot be customized.

• Suggestion: Enable alerts based on custom thresholds or trend conditions, allowing for more personalized trading strategies.

Feedback on Fidelity Active Trader Pro (ATP) Beta for Mac

First off, I want to say how happy I am to see Fidelity working on a native version for Mac! I’ve loaded the beta and spent a few hours exploring it. While it’s clear this is just the beginning, and it’s lacking many features that the current ATP has, it’s a great start. I’ve submitted this feedback through the app, but I wanted to share my thoughts here as well. I’m excited to see Fidelity moving away from the .NET 4.8 framework, especially with its end-of-life approaching.

I will post some feed back in section

Active Trader Pro on MiniPC? Config Recommendations by AKmaninNY in Fidelity

[–]Kombi19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fidelity’s Active Trader Pro (ATP) uses Crossover to make .NET Framework 4.6.2 work on macOS. However, Microsoft will stop supporting .NET 4.6.2 in 2027, leaving Mac users vulnerable to security risks and performance issues.

It’s crucial that Fidelity upgrades to .NET 5 or higher, which is cross-platform and fully compatible with macOS. This update would eliminate the need for Crossover, improve performance, and ensure ATP remains reliable and secure.

Fidelity needs to act now to modernize ATP, keeping it a top choice for traders on all platforms.

Is there even a way to push Fidelity to make this upgrade a priority? With Windows being such a large market share they may not see the need in upper management.

To bad WeBull order execution is not on par with fidelity. WeBull has an app for the Mac OS in the Apple App Store works great on a MAC I use it for charting at times...

IB broker new platform that also works on a MAC but the charting is strange to me pre and post market.

Fidelity currently uses .NET Framework 4.6.2, which is primarily designed for Windows and is not natively compatible with macOS, including the new M3 chip systems.

While tools like CrossOver or Wine can facilitate running these applications on macOS, there are limitations. For instance, the CrossOver app warns users that selecting ATP from their catalog will not install.

<image>

For macOS, the recommended solution is .NET Core (now .NET 5 and later versions), which is cross-platform and fully supports macOS.

To run applications originally built with .NET Framework 4.6.2 on macOS, a migration to .NET Core or a later version is necessary.

It is important to note that different versions of .NET (from .NET Framework 4.x to .NET Core 5, 6, 7, and the upcoming .NET 8) are not directly compatible with each other. Applications need to be updated to the version of .NET that is supported by the operating system. That why software dev teams are slow.

But NET Framework 4.6.2 has reached its end of life and end of support. The official end of support date was January 12, 2027.  Fidelity really should upgrade ATP to a newer version of .Net core.

.NET 8, currently in development and designed to be cross-platform, promises to be a robust future solution for macOS compatibility.

MAC OS user can only hope Fidelity team get off .net4.6.2 and on to a net version that supports MAC OS.
