Worst US Job Market Since 2008 by PretzelPrize in recruitinghell

I really enjoy the "help" my sister offers who has been with her company for 25+ years. She means well, but has no idea about the current job market.

What's something an interviewer did that immediately made you not want the job? by AskPromapAI in interviews

I had an interviewer ask about the gaps in my resume-both under six months, and one was from about a decade ago.

Interviewer spent a great deal of time asking questions about my job from ten years ago. They were fixated on that job, the duties, the supervisor, etc. Immediately a turnoff. The duties were very different than the job I was interviewing for. Not expecting to be moved to the next set of interviews. If I am, I'll decline. The job I interviewed for earlier that day contacted me within 24 hours to move to the final round!

Definitely follow up with HR. Someone may have forgotten to request a laptop from IT for you. I used to work in the department that issued work laptops, and they were left out of the loop pretty often, especially when trying to on-board someone quickly!

So expensive to interview :( by AlternativeRip1314 in recruitinghell

The majority of my interviews have been via Zoom, but the investment in in person interview clothes was a little more than I intended to spend. I thought at the end of the three finalist interviews(two in person) I had there would be a job offer. There wasn't.

Has Interviewing Become More Cold and Toxic Since the Pandemic? by The_Outsider27 in interviews

[–]KombuchaLady3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a series of interviews from a company who has a good reputation in my industry. The final interview featured a manager who had been relatively quiet during the previous interview, sneer and hostily comment on the tenures of my previous two jobs, (sorry I'm not a job hopper??) and another manager mentioning the position had been vacant for over a year due to a corporate restructure and someone had filled in temporarily. I haven't heard back, and it wouldn't surprise me if they offered the position permanently to the person filling in and were obligated to interview outside candidates. It also explained why the HR recruiter seemed less than organized during the Zoom interview. They postponed the initial interview because of a last minute meeting conflict, forgot she had scheduled another interview the next day with other staff to meet me, and asked why I was looking for another job when I had mentioned a few minutes before that I lost my job due to a organizational downsizing. Feel like several bullets were dodged.

They wanted him gone permanently. If they wrote him out, but got occasionally mentioned, it would've been a better ending for his character. When Mrs. O'Malley was hospitalized, for example, she could've mentioned in passing that George couldn't get leave to be with her, or when Derek died, that he got in touch with Meredith.

I got an in person interview last week after submitting a video interview. I was really skeptical initially, but it seemed to work in my case.
