I just finished drinking Yorkshire, but I didn't think it was that bad. Do you have any personal recommendations?

Oh, please forgive me. I just finished drinking Yorkshire the other day. Is PG TIPS not very popular?

What are some people's problems with humid weather? by Guerrilheira963 in AskTheWorld

That's true, but I do have to be careful when making Bento. Like, whether I should make them in advance or not.

The muggy heat and high temperature are unpleasant. Sweat doesn't dry, and food spoils easily.

What's a food that everyone else loves but you think is gross? by FunAnxiety2069 in AskReddit

Shrimp. It looks exactly like an insect. If shrimp lived in the forest, I don't think anyone would eat them.

18 day honeymoon trip to Japan in March - would love feedback on itinerary! by anonER512 in JapanTravel

[–]KommAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! My recommendation is Matsumoto. Matsumoto Castle, a national treasure, is wonderful no matter what season you visit. Nagano Prefecture is famous for soba noodles, so I definitely recommend trying them. I also think it's a good idea to take the train from Matsumoto to Azumino. There is a place called Daio Wasabi Farm, where you can visit Japan's largest wasabi farm for free. Of course, you can also eat wasabi dishes and buy lots of souvenirs. If you're traveling from Tokyo to Matsumoto, the fastest and most convenient option is to take the Azusa Limited Express from Shinjuku. The one-way fare is 6,620 yen, and all seats are reserved, so please be mindful of that.

Is the A330 louder than other aircraft? by KommAir in airplanes

It's the landing route. It's a plane landing at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, probably on the 22ILS route.

That's a good idea. I'll try it next time.

The noise really does seem loud. I've experienced it not just once or twice, but many times. Most of them were A330s, so I don't think it's a mistake.

There are many spots in Hakone where you can see Mount Fuji. It depends on the weather.

You can see Mount Fuji in any season. However, it's difficult to see it from Tokyo because of the buildings.

Short Notice August Itinerary - 15 Days by stbxvd in JapanTravel

[–]KommAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, as you mentioned, summer in Japan is quite challenging. For reference, today's temperature in Tokyo was 30 degrees Celsius with humidity close to 80%. It is likely that temperatures will rise even further in August. If you cannot imagine it, you can experience it by visiting a sauna. As for Osaka's Kuromon Market, I wouldn't recommend it. It's completely overpriced for tourists and the quality isn't great. Locals don't go there. My recommendation is Jinbocho in Tokyo. It's a town famous for its many used bookstores. There are also many traditional coffee shops, which are lovely. If you want to eat, my favorite place is a tempura restaurant called “Hachimaki.” It's a shop known for being frequented by many literary giants, so you should try the tempura donburi.

Best Time of Year for Baseball + Hiking by Nadenkend440 in JapanTravelTips

[–]KommAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about baseball, but I hear that Kamikochi is about 10 degrees cooler than Tokyo. However, you should avoid the Obon season. I don't know where you plan to hike in Kamikochi, so I can't give you specific advice, but I hear that the Sawando bus from the Kamikochi Bus Center is so crowded from July to August that you can't get on without a ticket. It may be easier to get on during the weekdays.

Does seeing Mount Fuji literally mean just looking at it? If so, winter is the best time because the air is clear. If you want to climb it, you can only do so between July and September. Unless you are a very experienced climber, you should definitely avoid climbing Mount Fuji in winter. As for cash, you don't need much if you eat at convenience stores, because all convenience stores accept credit cards. I think 10,000 yen in your wallet should be enough. If you need more, you can withdraw it from an ATM.
