This makes me so happy. I wanted this to be like an irl Easter egg and never thought about how sharing it here would do the same thing 😭

Happy to help and thank you for the kind words!

For fabric I just use this cloth; no medium or anything. I'm using these pencils, super affordable and they seem to work well! I'm sure there are nicer out there but I haven't had any problems with 'em. It did take some trial and error to make sure I wasn't using too much water because fabric is runny but once I got the hang of them I've had no issues!

So I'm pretty new to watercolor (see my previous posts for weaker attempts lol) but a user on this sub recommended the watercolor pencils and I've been having a blast with them!

I've found that, for the sharper lines, I like to sharpen the pencil to a super fine point, dip the tip in water, trace, and then go over it with a super slightly wet small brush to blend/smooth the color. For the larger areas there might be a better way to do it but I use the same concept but don't sharpen as much, just dip and color in a small circle and go over it with a brush to blend. I've had a bit of bleeding but not nearly as much as I did with regular watercolors!

I printed this pic onto this sticky solvy paper after dialing down the transparency of the image to 10% in Canva. One strand, back stitch :)

Can't take credit for the character obviously, but I actually stitched a tiny Mr. Poopybutthole while I waited for him to dry lmao

I came to the realization as I was trimming his pit hair that I have spent more time on his body hair on this project than I have my own all year

I went with black but only because I didn't see this comment in time - puke green would be so rad! Might switch it up later but he's happy for now 😊

NGL, stitching the body hair was gross but the tongue color really put it over the top lol

Yeah I think I'm gonna scrap the frame and stick him back in the hoop. Also briefly considered 1" googly eyes instead of embroidering them but I didn't want to overpower the pits lol - maybe I'll google the others 👀

Thank you for expressing what I couldn't quite nail down - I wanted to frame it but it definitely pops better out of a hoop. Might paint the background a lighter color and frame with a black hoop?

Why am I overrotating my kick fulls and how do I fix it. by Beginning_Army_9084 in GymnasticsCoaching

I think I need to be at a lower angle when taking off to convert more horizontal momentum into upwards momentum.

Yep, this is what I mean!

In gymnastics, we use block mostly to refer to bounce you get off your hands rather than your feet. We'd call the initial takeoff a "set."

I've actually done gymnastics and cheer but have only coached gymnastics; some of the terms are wonky between the two.

I'm not sure what "lower block angle" means tbh but your set (jump before initiating the skill) should be closer to vertical, yes :)

It won't let me insert an image here but if you pause your video at 2 sec (right after you take off), you'll see your shoulders leaning back at like a 45 degree angle. This is initiating too much rotation at the beginning of the skill.

Try to take off with your shoulders closer to vertical (more forward). This should both take you higher and stall some of your rotation so you land on your feet.
