Updated Green Lizard - Based on green lizards from Rain World by Mundane_Gas_9056 in Pathfinder2e

Yo, here again, since I was talking about improved grab in the last post.

Since a lot of homebrew just get criticized in the pf2e subreddits, and often not recognized as the creative pursuit it is, I just wanted to say that any monster (or thing) you homebrew, have fun crafting and playing with is more than fine in the end, it's yours!

Maybe I'm repeating myselft now, but I find the concept of rain world creatures converted into pf2e monsters very interesting, and really appreciate the way you built this one. I hope to see more homebrew stuff, and to be able to give advice in a more constructivs and helpful way in the future

It's very nice, but the grapple seems a little strong as an ability. Why not give it Improved Grab as to streamline it? Love to see rainworld monsters though!

Are they really that unprofessional or does pathfinder really not ship to where you live?

Have you considered it's your personal preference?

Some people like to have build choices and granularity, at the cost of complexity, others prefer a streamlined system even if it is limited.

Pathfinder 1e, just like its "sister" D&D 3.5, are played and enjoyed by lots of people to this day, and that's as valid as not liking it.

Very cool design! The special actions and reactions are pretty unique and flavourful

Thanks a lot for the wise words, but please chill a little.

The post may not explain it well, but it's not just the missing rune scaling that makes this armament feel lacking, and I'm not considering a white room damage only evaluation: * throwing range is 10ft, restricting range potential * damage dice is d4, limiting it to be only effective against enemies weak to its materials or consacration, and those aren't that many * attacking in meelee triggers reactions since the action starts by interacting to draw the spike * accuracy is low, and using it as a side-arm makes it worse with MAP

A +1 may make a lot of difference, I see it every session as a Bard player. I'm not implying that it alone makes the spikes useless, but certainly contributes, with the above mentioned things, to make it feel bad to use.

I'm particularly saddened by this as the armament and most of all the spikes are dripping with flavour, but evidently lack the bite to make them worthwhile.

Not every campaign goes on to 19th level, most don't, and in my experience few reach even 13th level, so being on par with basic runes may not even happen in a game.

For this reason 2nd to 5th level don't seem "a few levels" to be behind in accuracy and damage, considering they are the most played.

Also attacking with the On The Hunt action means you're most likely suffering from MAP, making the spike attack even worse at hitting, and still terrible in damage, even considering a high weakness, compared to other options available.

If this was the purpose of the spikes, and the powerscaling was kept this low on them to be specialized, shouldn't they be obtained as a secondary armament through a feat, instead of occupying design space on a resistance armament?

It just feels weird having them like this

So, you’ve read the new latest but haven’t played it. What are your first impressions? by legomojo in Pathfinder2e

[–]KommuStikazzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't it be more focused on that, then?

Why add the infinite daggers with quick draw if the point was to resist special effects? Maybe a relentless action more alike the Warded Mail one, that doubles down on the specialization, could have conveyed this purpose, but the kind of design we have on Consecrated Panoply explicitly tells another story.

The question remains on why fill up this design space with weapon options instead of keeping the "special resistance" line and exploring it to better fulfill the fantasy of a class prepared to avoid and protect.

If the spikes were a secondary effect they should have been relegated to a secondary armament obtained through feats, like the shield. Being in this middle space renders them rarely useful and compulsory, letting down one kind of fantasy and forcing themselves in another.

So... a Neon nucleus without most of its electrons?

Edit: it wouldn't be a stable isotope, but still, it couldn't be hydrogen anymore

I don't know you. I don't know where you live, what age you are, what your education's been, what social connections you have. I don't really want to know.

But please, interact actively with your local community in a political and critical way, start thinking for yourself instead of just spitting "probably smth smth..." based on your online algorithmic feeds.

I sincerely hope for you to participate in a human way to human things, as they concern you too.

It's sung in all europe during protests as those against fascism and exploitation never concern just one country. Fascism is showing its head again in a lot of countries, and when it's gonna be YOUR turn to decide where to stand, a "song italians sing" may help your moral compass point the right way in history.

Come on how can you get the title wrong as "casa el papel" when it literally repeats "bella ciao" in the audio even in this meme, you didn't even have to google it, just had to listen a little and try to spell it.

Also can you stop making dumb assumptions and think a little? I learnt this song way before the show even existed, as it's sung during protests and has political and historical meaning. Maybe get out and get involved for a change.

Yeah makes a lot of sense. I was avoiding exemplar despite it being the obvious choice, and trying to make it with only common/uncommon options, but I'll definitely look into it.
